The moment those words landed, the entire auditorium dropped into a stunned silence.

It wasn’t hesitation. It was shock.

No one had expected this.

Everyone stood frozen, staring at Nira as if they were seeing her for the first time.

Being good at exams only proved one thing, solid understanding of the material. It didn’t mean someone could teach it, break it down, or design something that measured real ability.

But Nira had done exactly that.

As a freshman.

As someone without a wolf soul.

She hadn’t just written a test, she had created one that every professor in the department unanimously approved. The structure was precise, the difficulty carefully balanced, and the questions didn’t stop at theory. They pushed into realworld application and advanced concepts, testing not just knowledge, but how well students could actually use it.

At that point, calling her a genius felt inadequate. The silence didn’t last long.

It shattered all at once.

The auditorium erupted into thunderous applause and cheers, loud enough to rattle the walls.

She earned that number one spot!

The shout came from somewhere in the crowd, and within seconds, others picked it up, voices overlapping until it became a wave.

Once it was revealed that Nira had written the exam herself, the ones who had tried to smear her didn’t dare stay. A few shifted into wolf form and slipped out in embarrassment as fast as they could.

From that moment on, Nira became the favorite of the entire Computer Science department.

No one mocked her for not having a wolf soul anymore.

Kade’s POV:

I stood just outside the crowd, watching Nira get pulled into the center of it all.

People surrounded her, looking at her like she was something untouchable, something they couldn’t quite wrap their heads around.

A faint smile slipped onto my face before I even realized it.

There was a quiet sense of relief settling in my chest.

I had known she could handle herself. Even so, when Tessa called, I didn’t hesitate. I walked out of a meeting and came straight here.

Seeing it play out like this still caught me off guard.

She was better than I expected. Way better.

I found myself wondering how far she could actually go.

She didn’t even have a wolf soul, at least not one anyone could sense, and yet she kept proving everyone wrong.

My eyes stayed on her a little longer than they should have.

The way she carried herself, the confidence, the kind of presence that didn’t need attention but pulled it in anyway.

It washard to ignore.

For a brief second, a thought crossed my mind.

Maybe forming a mate bond with her wasn’t completely impossible.

Odin rejected it instantly. As an Alpha Kinglevel wolf, I will not accept a mate without a wolf soul. No matter how she looks, it’s impossible. A bond like that will never happen.

My expression tightened a little. Relax. It was just a passing thought.

Odin wasn’t wrong. As the first in line to inherit an Alpha King bloodline, my mate was never going to be someone like Nira.

I had always trusted the Moon Goddess to decide that for me. Whoever was meant to be
