Alden paused for a moment. No wonder the Nine–Headed Hydra Tree only had one skill. All its other skills must have been sacrificed.
For this dungeon run, he had held onto the Withered Tree Reborn skill. Alden still had 12 skill books left, all dropped by the Twisted
Treants.
They were pretty useless to him, though.
‘Learn Withered Tree Reborn.
‘Sacrifice skill books.”
Alden sacrificed ten Twisted Treant skill books, and Withered Tree Reborn successfully leveled up to 2 stars.
Withered Tree Reborn (Passive Skill): 2 stars
Effect: When your HP drops below 10%, you’ll immediately restore 20% of your HP.
Cooldown: 12 hours.
Consumption: None.
Proficiency: 0/100 (Proficiency is gained by sacrificing skill books; each book sacrificed grants 1 point of proficiency. Some special kills may grant more proficiency.)
As Alden had expected, leveling up the skill increased the HP restoration by 10%, and the cooldown was significantly reduced.
This was a huge improvement.
Moreover, with this skill, his survival capacity had dramatically increased.
Also, since Withered Tree Reborn restored a percentage of HP, it would remain powerful even in the game’s later stages.
Right now, Alden’s total HP was a little over 30,000, so the 20% recovery was over 6,000 HP,
But if his total HP reached 3 million or 30 million later on, the percentage would still apply.
Shaking his head, Alden focused on his experience bar.
He was still halfway from level 10.
He could hit level 10 in just half an hour if he really wanted to.
But Alden wasn’t after just leveling up.
He opened the level leaderboard.
He is preparing to check the current leaderboard rankings.
1st: Ashura Emperor, Level 11, 25%.

2nd: Dream Snow, Level 10, 95%.
3rd: Desireless Level 10, 91%.
4th: Skyspire Fenrir, Level 10, 90%.
5th: Truly 20, Level 10, 88%.
The gaps between players in the leaderboard weren’t too significant.
Alden recognized most of them. Three of the top five were high–ranking guild members, while one was a rich kid from Lardovia who had spent a fortune to level up.
The guy had money, good luck, and some skill, making him almost unbeatable.
As for the fifth player, he was similar to Finley, someone who had an early advantage due to a stroke of luck, but eventually, he faded from the spotlight as the game progressed.
Apart from the level leaderboard, Twilight of the Gods also had an equipment leaderboard. Alden opened it.
1st: Golden Scepter (Gold Level).
2nd: Thunderstorm Bow (Silver Level).
3rd: Nine–Headed Shield (Bronze Level).
4th: Nine–Headed Shoulder Guards (Bronze Level).
5th: Nine–Headed Cloak (Bronze Level).
Out of the top five, except for the Golden Scepter in first place, the rest were all Alden’s.
Just like in my past life. Alden thought to himself.
The Golden Scepter belonged to Dream Snow.
It was a summoning scepter with one effect. Summoning six level–10 Black Iron bosses.
This is absolutely like a bug in the early stages of the game.
Even one level–10 Black Iron boss, let alone six, could wipe out everything in its path.
By the way, Dream Snow owned the Dream Club that Alden used to be a part of.
She was pretty, but she had a habit of hiring family members for key positions, making the club a bit of a mess.
But none of that mattered now. With his Super God–level talent, Alden was confident he could surpass Dream Snow.
The 50 attribute points from completing the first dungeon were all put into attack speed.
His attack speed increased from 2.63 to 3.63.
While allocating his points, Alden did consider putting some into movement speed.

However, he ultimately decided against it.
His Heaven’s Hand skill worked best with attack speed.
He could quickly regenerate his health if his attack speed was high enough.
Finally, there was that quest scroll.
These were rare and incredibly valuable, as they came with Twilight of the Gods quests, not ordinary NPC ones.
Completing these quests could grant Blessings from the Gods.

At the very least, the Blessing of the Gods provides attribute boosts, and the best ones are said to grant permanent traits.
Alden opened the scroll and was shocked by what he saw.
“Beneath the Rookie Village lies the sealed Drymora. If Drymora is released, it will devastate all living beings.”
“Quest Objective: Kill all NPCs in Rookie Village and destroy the altar, ensuring that all adventurers from other worlds can only spawn in the main city, never to return to Rookie Village.”
“Quest penalty: None.”
“Quest reward: Unknown.”
Seeing this quest made Alden’s face darken with disbelief.
This quest was outrageous–ridiculously so!
In his past life, Alden had encountered all kinds of bizarre quests, but this? Destroy Rookie Village? Was this really a quest, or was it a death wish?
Players had tried to provoke NPCs before, but even the tavern keeper could deal thousands of damage with just a wave of his hand.
As for the Village Keeper or the blacksmith? Their stats were probably insane.
Alden folded up the quest scroll.
He didn’t rush to accept the quest despite there being no penalties.
