Chapter 19 The Blacksmith’s Quest
However, just picking one of these two would be utterly ridiculous.
And with Alden’s understanding of the game, there was a high possibility of a third quest scroll.
If that’s the case, the third quest would likely be to kill the Drymora!

If that’s true, he could tackle all three quests at once. First, destroy the Rookie Village, then release the Drymora, and finally, defeat the Drymora.
Of course, this third quest was just Alden’s own speculation.
For now, no matter which quest it was, he couldn’t complete any of them.
So, he decided not to take them yet.
He would first focus on completing the leveling–up quest from the old Village Keeper.
Of the ten bosses to be hunted in the Rookie Village, he had already killed the Nine–Headed Hydra Tree, the Twisted Treant King, and the Yellow–Furred Weasel.
So next up.
It was time to hunt other bosses.
There were bosses among monsters at levels 3 to 10, so if Alden hunted them, he could kill six more.
However, Alden preferred to hunt higher–level bosses, so he wasn’t planning to target the low–level ones.
He wanted to hunt some other hidden bosses in the Rookie Village, but with his current attributes, he still had a long way to go.
So, he needed to level up to level 10 first.
He also planned to upgrade his talent, the Heaven’s Hand, to level three.
Right now, he was very close to level 10, but the Heaven’s Hand still had quite a distance before reaching level three.
He would need to perform ten thousand regular attacks to get there, which meant more time spent on basic attacks.
He was still at the spawning point for Twisted Treants at level 10.
There were no players here, as most level 9 players had already moved on to attempt dungeons after reaching level 10.
Whoosh!
An arrow shot through the air, delivering a critical hit.

Huge damage appeared, and this ordinary Twisted Treant couldn’t withstand Alden’s basic attack, so he collapsed in his hands.
Lightning Jump triggered.

More than ten Twisted Treants were drawn in.
As expected, one arrow per Treant and the incoming ones were quickly dealt with.
Such high–frequency monster farming might be decent for ordinary players, but it wasn’t enough for Alden.
The reason was simple.
He needed to stack his health limit through basic attacks.
One shot killed the Treant, and he could not get in a few more basic attacks.
After farming for more than ten minutes at the Twisted Treant area, Alden didn’t see much improvement in his HP. Still, his experience was enough to meet the level–up requirement.
Ding! “You have reached level 10. You have gained 5 Attribute Points.”
Ding! “You have met the requirements to leave the Rookie Village. You can take the ‘Leave Village‘ quest from the old Village Keeper.”
Alden ignored the ‘Leave Village‘ quest.
He allocated all five Attribute Points to movement speed.
With enough movement speed, he could easily kite wild monsters.
Movement speed would be necessary if he needed to do a quest to kill NPCs in the Rookie Village later.
Adding those five points increased his movement speed by 0.5, which, though modest, helped a little.
Next, he began thinking about hunting his fourth boss.
Alden already had a plan.
The Rookie Village’s hidden bosses weren’t limited to the Minstrel.
The next step might allow him to hunt all the remaining seven bosses and complete the old Village Keeper’s quest.
This quest was the Village Keeper’s Struggle.
In the Rookie Village, Roland Ironsmith, the Blacksmith, had been eyeing the position of the Village Keeper for a long time. The Blacksmith had been secretly working hard to overthrow the old Village Keeper.
The Blacksmith had been secretly recruiting players. Alden had sent Finley to work at the Blacksmith’s shop, which involved accepting the Blacksmith’s recruitment.
The final quest at the Blacksmith’s shop was to help Roland defeat the old Village Keeper.
This quest would offer big rewards to support the rise of a new Village Keeper in the Rookie Village.
It was precisely because of this quest that Alden saw the feasibility of completing the mission to destroy the Rookie Village.
Whether he helped the old Village Keeper destroy the Blacksmith’s faction or helped the Blacksmith destroy the old Village Keeper’s faction, the Rookie Village would undergo a massive shake–up, and many NPCs would be eliminated.

Significantly, if both factions were weakened, it would be even more enjoyable.
He could sit back and profit from the situation.
But for now, he had already taken on the old Village Keeper’s quest to hunt 10 bosses.
It seemed Roland would have to die for that quest to be completed.
Before that, though, he needed to borrow some items from Roland first.

In the Rookie Village, Alden first went to the tavern. Before heading to the Blacksmith’s shop, he bought two bottles of the most expensive liquor.
Roland saw the liquor in Alden’s hands and asked with a smile, “Adventurer, what are you here for?”
Alden placed the two bottles of liquor in front of Roland.
“I’ve heard that you are the strongest in the world. I want to ask you to craft my strongest weapon.”
Flattered by Alden’s praise, Roland immediately became a little boastful.
“Hehe, keep it low–key, keep it low–key. No need to say it out loud.”
Saying that, Roland subtly took the two bottles of liquor and put them away.
“To craft weapons, it’s going to cost money. If you want the strongest weapon, it depends on whether you have enough gold coins.”
Alden took all his gold coins and threw them in front of Roland.
“Is this enough?”
Roland’s eyes widened. This was a Rookie Village, and after so many years of blacksmithing, it was the first time he had seen so much gold.
“Enough, enough.
“However, just gold coins are not enough. I also need 10 bronze–level equipment, 50 black iron–level equipment, and 200 elite–level equipment as raw materials.”
