Shadowrend felt a bit taken aback. Alden’s idea seemed rather bold and unconventional.

After witnessing his abilities firsthand, Shadowrend realized his approach could actually work.

“Alright then.

“Let’s start by finding Elvaris.”

Alden promptly sent a team invite to Shadowrend.

It then only took ten more minutes for him to hit level 8.

Since Alden had already moved on to the elite level of stonebeetles, the experience gained naturally increased.

“Frost King, your damage output is the craziest I’ve ever seen from anyone. Did you unlock a special talent?”

“Yeah.”

Alden gave a slight nod.

Sensing it wasn’t his place, Shadowrend wisely chose not to ask about his talent.

That would have been overstepping a personal boundary.

A person’s talent is considered a private matter.

Although Alden had been reincarnated, he only knew bits and pieces about other people’s talents.

He might have had a general idea, but the specific effects of those talents remained a mystery.

Take Shadowrend as an example.

Alden was aware that he possessed a God–level talent, yet the attributes of that talent were still unknown.

Chapter 21 Elvaris!

At that moment, both Alden and Shadowrend heard an angry voice echoing from deep within the cave.

“Elvaris, you ungrateful traitor! Master treated you so well, and you still dared to steal his ore!”

Alden and Shadowrend carefully moved closer.

Ahead of them, Alden noticed three NPCs.

Elvaris appeared to be a shorter, younger man, while the other two were large and muscular.

Elvaris: Level 10.

‘Note: He had originally been Village Keeper’s informant placed next to Roland Ironsmith, carrying something of great value.”

Aside from Elvaris, the attributes of the other two NPCs were completely unknown.

Health points, attack, and skills are all marked with question marks.

What stood out was that their notes indicated they were Roland’s apprentices, and assisting them might lead to unexpected ewards.

For an ordinary player, helping these two NPCs would have been the obvious choice.

However, Alden didn’t act immediately. Though he had a plan in mind, he preferred to observe and wait for any new developments n the storyline.

Twilight of the Gods wasn’t something to be approached like a simple game.

This world should be regarded as a parallel universe, and NPCs should be treated as real people.

Only by doing so could greater rewards be reaped.

Shadowrend trailed behind Alden, keeping his distance and remaining silent, still watching the scene unfold.

“Roland has grand ambitions. As a resident of the Rookie Village, I must report his intentions to Village Keeper and have him eliminate Roland!”

Despite Elvaris‘ small frame, his gaze was unwavering.

“He plans to use the Icenfire Ore to summon a boss far beyond Rookie Village’s limits. If that happens, our village will be destroyed.”

Upon hearing this, Roland’s two apprentices scoffed. “Enough! Whatever our master decides to do is none of your concern.

“Village Keeper is useless. Our master is the only one fit to lead the village.”

Neither side was willing to back down.

Chapter 21 Elvaris!

Just as expected!

Roland was only fooling himself!

A subtle glint appeared in Alden’s eyes.

Roland hadn’t taken the Icenfire Ore to enhance his weapon as he claimed.

His true intention was to unleash a powerful boss.

Is there actually a hidden boss lurking in this Rookie Village?

Could it possibly be a Drymora?

Before Alden could continue thinking, Elvaris and Roland’s two apprentices were already in the middle of a fight.

All three of them had similar levels of strength, but because there were more opponents, Elvaris soon found himself at a disadvantage.

An arrow zipped through the air.

Alden took action.

His shot sliced through the sky, landing directly on Sam Ironsmith’s head.

Simultaneously, a huge damage number also showed up above Alden’s head.

Alden’s eyes narrowed. At his current level, his life steal wasn’t enough to withstand the situation. Facing an enemy with counterattack skills, he knew he wouldn’t be able to last long.

The opponent was at least a level 10 boss, with stats comparable to the Twisted Treant King, possibly even stronger.

Caught by surprise, Sam’s cold eyes locked onto him.

“Adventurers? You’re the ones the Village Keeper sent to back up the traitor Elvaris, aren’t you?

“In that case, you’ll all perish.”

With those words, Sam raised his big blade and swung it down.

Alden, with swift reflexes, fired an arrow through the air, disrupting his attack.

Elvaris‘ voice rang out as he raised his hand, sending two dark flashes into Alden’s body.

Ding! “You have received Elvaris‘ blessing, reducing the damage you take by 10%.”

Alden’s eyes brightened. This blessing came at just the right moment.

He quickly switched to the Savanna Longbow.

The Savanna Longbow boosted his health points by 500 points and included a two percent lifesteal effect.

Facing opponents with counterattacks, lifesteal became a crucial attribute.

You have a strong counterattack?

As long as I can steal more life than you, you’ll be left helpless.

Although Alden’s primary weapon didn’t belong to the Treant Set, his baseline healing per second remained high at 180 points.

With the lifesteal from the Savanna Longbow and considering the 10% damage reduction from Elvaris’s blessing, he might have a chance against Sam and Seth.

Another significant critical hit damage appeared.

Alden’s health points dipped by over 1000 points, but his body began to heal itself gradually.

Shadowrend remained still, watching, refraining from acting hastily.

As an assassin, in a situation that isn’t in his favor, it’s crucial to stay composed and wait for the ideal moment to strike.

“Take this guy down first!”
