Old Barrel’s plan to strike from behind Azure Serpent was completely crushed by Alden’s relentless attack, leaving him powerless.

He slapped his waist and pulled out a glowing talisman.

Alden was caught off guard. He hadn’t expected an NPC at this point to have such an item.

In a flash, Alden’s arrow flew straight at the talisman, but it was too late.

Old Barrel had already activated it, causing a golden light to cover both him and the Azure Serpent.

Old Barrel looked at him suspiciously.

“Just 50 Attribute Points? You wouldn’t even help Village Keeper with his quest?”

Alden chuckled and nodded. “Honestly, I think Village Keeper isn’t fit for his role. That position should belong to Roland.

“But as an adventurer, I need to prioritize my own gains. So, give me 50 Attribute Points, and I’ll let you go.”

Old Barrel hesitated briefly before agreeing. “Fine, deal.”

Ding! “Old Barrel has given you a quest.”

“Quest requirement: Spare his life.”

“Quest penalty: None.”

“Quest reward: 50 Attribute Points.”

Alden grinned and accepted the quest without hesitation.

For now, he spared Old Barrel.

Village Keeper’s quest is still something he can consider, but perhaps it would be better to wait for later developments.

Additionally, he had another plan in mind.

He wanted both Village Keeper and Roland to suffer losses.
