Chapter 29 Ninefold Longbow
Alden grinned and said, “No.”
He then proceeded directly into the dungeon.
Dungeon difficulty: Hell level.
Having completed this dungeon multiple times before, it felt like a breeze for him now.
His main goal for clearing the dungeon was to boost his health points and collect skill books.
The skill “Withered Tree Reborn” required skill books for upgrades.

Although the rewards for clearing the dungeon now are far less than the first clear, it is still a dungeon with four bosses.
Before he knew it, five hours had gone by.
Alden’s health points had risen from over 70,000 to more than 100,000.
In five hours, he had gained 30,000 health points.
Such a rise was truly remarkable.
On top of the health points increase, his Withered Tree Reborn skill had also been upgraded from 2 to 3 stars.
However, upgrading it from 3 to 4 stars would require sacrificing a thousand skill books, which was quite a tough challenge even for someone as fast as Alden.
Moreover, with his health points surpassing 100,000, his revival skill had also reached 4 stars.
It now restored 500 health points per second instead of just 50.
With this speed of healing, it would be nearly impossible for ordinary players to deplete Alden’s health points, even if he stood idle.
Back in the Rookie Village, Roland hadn’t finished forging the Gold Level longbow yet.
Alden decided to log out to have a quick meal.
“Brielle seems to be getting better, so I should buy a nutrition pod,” he thought.
Though his offline break was short, it still felt a bit disruptive.
“Alden, following your plan, I got a powerful Silver Level blade.”
Alden grinned, knowing that Finley had reached Silver Level equipment with his three passive skills, just as he expected.
“Now you can head to the main city,” Lin Tianhao suggested.
“The best city for developing in the war zone should be Darkwind City.”
“But remember, Finley. When you reach the main city, don’t change your class right away, even for a hidden one. It’s better to check with me first.”

“Got it.”
After a quick conversation with Finley, Alden finished his meal and went back to the game.
Once back in the Rookie Village, he made his way straight to the Ironsmith Shop.
When Roland saw him, he gave a knowing smile.
“Old Barrel told me about your situation,” he said, catching Alden off guard.
“Now that you know, I’ll be upfront. I want to kill Village Keeper. Will you help?” Roland asked.
“I’m in,” Alden answered with a smile.
Roland nodded, “In that case, go to the cliff to the south. Old Barrel will take you to Village Keeper’s secret base, where you’ll help him eliminate the guards.”
Ding! “Roland has assigned you a quest.”
“Quest requirement: Kill the guards at Village Keeper’s secret base.”
“Quest penalty: unknown.”
“Quest reward: unknown.”
Alden frowned, feeling uneasy about the unknown punishment.
Could Rolan be planning to get back at me if the quest failed?
It was definitely a possibility.
“Accept the quest.”
After a brief moment of doubt, he accepted the quest.
With the plot advancing this far, there was no turning back.
Roland smiled and pulled out a golden longbow from the shop.
“Your Gold Level longbow is ready,” he said.
Ninefold Longbow: Gold Level.
Requirements: None.
Effect 1: Attack +500,
Effect 2: Attack speed +1.
Effect 3: Critical hit +20%.
Effect 4: Lifesteal +5%.
Effect 5: Health points +2000.

Effect 6: Restores 100 health points per second.
Durability: 100.
Alden’s eyes gleamed.
It was clearly a custom–made longbow.
The attributes were perfectly suited for him.
The attack and health points boosts were useful, but the other four effects were even more fitting.
“Thanks,” he said, accepting the Ninefold Longbow.
“Old Barrel is waiting for you at the cliff to the south, go now.”
Alden nodded. With the Gold Level longbow, his combat ability had definitely reached new heights.
He made his way to the cliff south of the Rookie Village.
The cliff was bottomless.
In the past, some players thought hidden rewards might be waiting at the bottom.
They attempted to leap off the edge to claim these rewards.
However, most of them met a deadly end.
After several failed attempts, people finally abandoned this hopeless idea.
When Alden reached the cliff, he noticed a familiar silhouette.
It wasn’t Old Barrel!
Instead, it was Village Keeper.
Seeing him made Alden’s heart skip a beat.
“Frost King?” he muttered.
Village Keeper looked slightly startled to see him.
It was clear he hadn’t expected Alden to show up.
Trying to stay composed, Alden greeted him, “Hello, Village Keeper.”
“I heard you fought with Old Barrel, but he escaped.”
Alden admitted, “Unfortunately, the Azure Serpent he summoned threw off my attack.”

Village Keeper gave a small nod, “That was my mistake. I thought the poison would work, and the Azure Serpent wouldn’t appear.”
