Chapter 35 I’ll Take the Quest!
It wasn’t just Dream Snow.
Other clubs that had been following Alden also started to lose interest.

The early stage of Twilight of the Gods is critical, and Alden being stuck at level 10 for so long made them start questioning his
worth.
The only exception was Skyspire Shield.
He had been keeping a close eye on Alden and even sent him a few messages to check in, but never got a reply.
A blogger even made a post saying Alden had become an average player.
“I’m sure you all remember Frost King. He became famous after a series of server–wide announcements and being offered millions in salary from major clubs.
“But now, a whole day has passed. While other players are making huge progress, Frost King’s still stuck at level 10. I think he’s just a one–hit wonder. Once he enters the main city, bosses with ultimate body and rage mode will make his Infinite Float State useless.
“Some people are saying that Frost King hasn’t been online because of real life matters, but I think that’s nonsense. Who would turn down a potential annual salary of over a hundred million for personal issues?”
After this blogger’s post went up, a lot of people agreed with him.
Pro players could tell the blogger’s take didn’t add up.
But most regular players didn’t have a good enough understanding of the game, so they thought the blogger was right.
Still, no professional players were about to stick their neck out for someone they barely knew.
Well, no one except for Skyspire Shield.
When he saw that post, he couldn’t hold back.
He immediately made a new post to refute it.
“First of all, to that blogger, NickPlays, please think before you talk.
“Frost King’s Float State alone could fight normal monsters even if he couldn’t take on a boss.
“Also, did you even watch River City Sentinel’s stream? Did you see the damage Frost King was dealing? You really think he’s stuck
at level 10?”
Skyspire Shield’s post blew up fast.
After all, he was the Skyspire Guild’s heir and had already made a name for himself in the main city with his elite Treant Set.
Plenty of players knew who he was.

Just 15 minutes later, NickPlays fired back with another post.
“Wow, didn’t expect a pro player to be a Frost King fan. I’m not denying his Float State is impressive, but so what?

“His damage value in Rookie Village was already insane. It’s almost impossible to get that much damage from free attributes or equipment alone.
“So I think Frost King probably had a special damage–boosting item, which isn’t unheard of early in the game.
“But special items usually have time limits. I bet his ran out, his damage went back to normal, and now he’s nothing special.”
NickPlays and Skyspire Shield, both with a decent number of followers, started a public argument.
Their back–and–forth exploded online and even hit the top ten trending topics.
Meanwhile…
The person at the center of it all–Alden–was happily grinding Twisted Jungle.
He ran it once, twice, three times…
One thing he loved about Rookie Village is unlimited backpack space.
Otherwise, his inventory would’ve been full ages ago.
He’d lost count of how many times he’d cleared the Hell–level difficulty of the Twisted Jungle.
He only knew he hadn’t stopped.
Finally…
Ding! “Your Heaven’s Hand has been upgraded to 3 stars.”
Heaven’s Hand (Super God–Level): 3 stars.
Effect 1: Every basic attack deals true damage equal to 3% of your HP.
Effect 2: Every basic attack permanently increases HP by 3 points.
Proficiency: 0/10,000,000.
Alden couldn’t help grinning.
Heaven’s Hand had finally leveled up.
And his HP had broken past 220,000!
That meant with the new effects of Heaven’s Hand, each basic attack now dealt 6,600 true damage, and permanently increased his HP by three points.
After Heaven’s Hand was upgraded, Alden didn’t stop.

He cleared the dungeon again and got a lot of rewards.

Alden checked his inventory and saw that he had over 1,100 pieces of equipment, which was more than enough for Roland’s quest.
He went back to Rookie Village, found Roland.
“Roland, I have what you asked.”
Roland was a bit surprised by how fast Alden returned.
Alden took out the equipment and the Icenfire Ore.
Seeing these items, Roland took out the Bloodthirst Necklace.
They exchanged items.
Alden smiled, satisfied.
With the Bloodthirst Necklace and the Purifying Pendant’s control immunity, the pressure on him dropped significantly.
With control immunity, lifesteal, and his current stats and skills, Alden figured he could actually take on the Village Keeper.
“Frost King, you’ve got what you wanted. Isn’t it time you left?” Roland said.
Alden raised an eyebrow.
“To be honest, I’ve ticked off a few guilds in the main city. I’m afraid I’ll be killed the moment I get there and won’t even be able to leave.”
Roland’s face turned dark when he heard that.
Old Barrel scolded, “Frost King, don’t push your luck. You shouldn’t get involved in Rookie Village’s affairs.”
Alden smirked. “I’m in it for the loot. If you give me a good enough offer, I’ll even handle the Village Keeper for you.”
Roland studied him.
He knew Alden was strong, but his recent unpredictability made him hard to trust.
He also had a feeling that Alden was the wild card in all of this.
To make sure everything went as planned, he wanted Alden to leave Rookie Village.
But if Alden was truly willing to help him, the benefits he could get would be huge.
“Okay.”
Roland nodded. “Frost King, if you’re serious about helping me, go and destroy the revival altar right now.”
