Game Over Not Over for Me novel Chapter 34

Chapter 34 The Game with Roland!

Roland got anxious when he heard what Alden said.

Come on, Frost King. We’ve always worked well togetherit’s not a big deal.

Alden stopped.

Roland, to be honest, the Village Keeper’s offer is pretty good.

When Roland heard that, he knew Alden might be asking for a lot.

Frost King, my Platinum Level necklace isn’t bad either.

Not bad, indeed.

Alden hesitated, then said, But it’s still just temporary equipment. Village Keeper even offered a SaintLevel Awakening Stone.

How about you give me a SaintLevel Awakening Stone too?

Roland’s expression changed. He didn’t have any SaintLevel Awakening Stone.

Frost King, I really don’t have a SaintLevel Awakening Stone.

But I can help you upgrade your Ninefold Longbow to Platinum Level, and give you a Platinum Level necklace.

Alden arched an eyebrow.

A Platinum Level main weapon and a Platinum Level necklace would greatly boost his combat ability.

But there was a problem.

If he replaced the necklace, his Treant Set would drop to nine pieces, and he would lose the set effect.

Using Platinum Level gear as temporary equipment is a bit of a waste.

How about you give me a full set of Gold Level archer gear?

A full set?

Roland’s expression changed instantly.

Frost King, a full set of gear isn’t just something you can get easily. The best sets available in all of Rookie Village are Bronze Level, and that’s my limit.

Alden was a bit disappointed, but it was expected.

Bronze Level, huh? Not even Silver. Show me the set’s stats.

Roland took a deep breath. He’d never had a player negotiate with him like this.

But he had no choice, because he absolutely needed the Icenfire Ore.

Okay.

Roland led Alden into the back room. There, Alden saw three Bronze Level sets.

This one is the Bronze Level archer set, the Galeborn Gear Set.

Alden looked at the set, and its stats appeared in front of him.

Galeborn Gear Set.

Effect 1: Attack Speed +3.2

Effect 2: Movement Speed +5.9

Effect 3: Critical Hit +35%

Effect 4: Attack +1800

Set Special Effect 1: Basic attacks can stack attack speed, increasing it by 0.5 with each attack, for a maximum of 6 stacks.

Set Special Effect 2: Basic attacks can stack movement speed, increasing it by 0.5 with each attack, for a maximum of 6 stacks.

Alden frowned.

This wasn’t what he wanted.

Attack speed and movement speed seemed important, but he’d seen another set with high counterattack before.

What he needed was lifesteal!

Otherwise, if Roland used that counterattack equipment, he would be completely at a disadvantage.

Frost King, what do you think?Roland asked.

Worthless,Alden replied.

What are you talking about?

Roland pretended to be surprised. This set has everything an archer needs most; attack speed, movement speed, critical hit, and attack power.

Alden just smiled without commenting.

Yes, it had all that, but no lifesteal.

That was the real problem.

At this stage, with counterattack in play, Alden would die faster the more he attacked without lifesteal.

Roland’s counterattack set was a perfect counter to this Galeborn Gear Set.

He clearly planned this in advance!

I don’t need more attack speed or critical hit right now. I lack lifesteal.

Lifesteal is a special attribute that you can’t increase with Attribute Points.

It could only be obtained through equipment or skills.

Roland narrowed his eyes. An archer wanting lifesteal seemed like he just wanted more survivability.

But in reality, lifesteal wasn’t as good for survivability as high attack speed and movement speed.

As long as those two stats were high, there was nothing to fear.

But, there was one condition.

The opponent couldn’t have a counterattack attribute.

Alden’s asking for lifesteal equipment made the situation clear.

In all of Rookie Village, aside from the Twisted Treantslow counterattack attribute, only Roland had it.

Frost King, lifesteal is a special attribute. I do have it, but not in a set. I only have three bronze pieces with the lifesteal attribute.

Alden’s face changed slightly.

It seemed Roland had figured out what he was up to.

Sigh.Alden let out a breath.

In that case, I’ll just go to Village Keeper.

Roland’s eyes narrowed, and an invisible pressure filled the air.

Alden felt the temperature rise around him.

Ding! You are affected by high temperatures.

The damage wasn’t much, but Roland’s attitude annoyed Alden.

Roland, you want to fight?

Alden spread his hands in mock surrender.

Fine, I definitely can’t beat you anyway. Just kill me.

Roland’s face hardened.

He knew killing Alden would only make him lose a level,

And this was Rookie Village.

If he killed Alden here, the Village Keeper would use it as an excuse to cause trouble for him.

Frost King, I do have one special piece of lifesteal equipment left.

I’m sure you’ll like it.

Oh?

Alden was a bit surprised.

What kind of equipment made Roland so confident?

Roland took a necklace from his pocket.

Bloodthirst Necklace: Special.

Wearing requirements: None.

Effect: Each basic attack restores 1% of the wearer’s HP.

Durability: 100.
