Ding! “You are the first to kill Azure Serpent. We will make a server–wide announcement. Would you like to hide your nickname?”
“No.”
“Server–wide announcement: Congratulations to Frost King for being the first to kill Old Barrel! This announcement is made with the hope that all players will continue to strive forward.”
“Server–wide announcement: Congratulations to Frost King for being the first to kill Old Barrel! This announcement is made with the hope that all players will continue to strive forward.”
Two consecutive server announcements rang out.
This instantly fired up Skyspire Shield, who had been feeling down.
Two bosses killed in a row? No way. This was the perfect chance to finally prove NickPlays was wrong.
“@NickPlays, what do you say now? Frost King just took down two bosses in such a short time–who else can pull that off?
“Using your own words, this shows Frost King’s earlier level drop was just a mistake!”
NickPlays didn’t back down just because Alden suddenly killed two bosses.
He replied soon after Skyspire Shield made his post.
“Beating two small bosses doesn’t prove anything. Everything still shows Frost King is stuck in Rookie Village.”
“Is it really something to brag about, beating two bosses at this early game in Rookie Village?”
Another wave of arguments started online.
But Alden, who had caused all of it, didn’t even know.
After killing Azure Serpent and Old Barrel, he started looting their bodies.
Ding! “You’ve obtained Skill Book +2.”
Ding! “You’ve obtained Equipment +3.”
Ding! “You’ve obtained a special item: Goldlight Talisman.”
Ding! “You’ve obtained a special item: Spirit Flask.”
Ding! “You’ve obtained Gold +10.”
The rewards weren’t anything special.
Alden checked the skills and equipment, but none of them were better than what he already had. There was nothing useful.

Then he turned his attention to the Goldlight Talisman and the Spirit Flask.
Goldlight Talisman: Special item.
+10 Free Coins

Spirit Flask: Special item.
Effect: Collect rare materials and drop them inside to automatically brew unique liquors. These drinks can do all sorts of things, like give free Attribute Points or temporary buffs.
Note: The rarer the materials, the better the liquor you can brew.
Alden’s eyes lit up.
The Goldlight Talisman wasn’t anything special to him, but the Spirit Flask caught his attention.
For now, he couldn’t figure out which rare materials would give which results.
And this early in the game, those materials were hard to find.
After gathering everything, Alden gave the Village Keeper a friendly smile before heading back to Rookie Village.
At the Ironsmith Shop, Roland was busy at the forge.
When he saw Alden walk in, a pleased smile spread across his face.
“Frost King, you’ve done well.”
Ding! “You have completed Roland Ironsmith’s quest.”
“Quest reward: Galeborn gear set +1.”
Alden’s eyes lit up.
The Galeborn gear set worked great for him.
Best of all, it boosted attack speed and movement speed.
Still, Alden already had the Bloodthirst Necklace, two Gold Level rings, and the Ninefold Longbow.
He needed to decide what to keep.
The Ninefold Longbow was a must. After all, it had lifesteal and so many powerful attributes.
The Thunder Ring was just average, so he took it off for now to make room for the attack and movement speed boost from the Galeborn gear set.
After thinking for a moment, Alden replaced one Thunder Ring. Now he wore ten pieces of the Galeborn gear set, one Thunder Ring, the Bloodthirst Necklace, and his best weapon, the Ninefold Longbow.

with this setup, his stats jumped up a lot
“Roland, when do we move?” Alden asked straight to the point
He had already spent too long in Rookie Village and was ready to go.
Roland gave a mysterious smile. “Right now!”
Alden nodded and asked, “So, what’s the plan?”
Roland laughed. “I’ve clashed secretly with the Village Keeper more times than you can count. This time, you’re the wild card.”
“Really?”
Alden looked a little surprised.
He asked, “What do you mean?”
Roland explained, “If we fight face–to–face, neither of us could guarantee a win. But with your help, things might be different.”
“I get it,” Alden said with a smile.
“So we’re heading straight to the cliff to find him?”
“That’s right. But first, go to the bar and get me two bottles of wine,” Roland said.
“Okay”
Alden was a little surprised that Roland actually wanted to drink.
At the bar, Alden bought the wine, but he didn’t put poison in it like he had promised the Village Keeper.
No matter who won the fight, he hoped the winner would suffer a lot in the process.
Only then could he gain something from it.
After Aiden handed him the wine, Roland checked it carefully with a silver needle.
“Old Barrel worked for the Village Keeper. Even though he’s dead, we still have to be cautious.”
Aiden felt a little shocked. Was this what the Village Keeper called total trust?
it wasn’t just distrust towards Old Barrel.
It was actually distrust towards him.
“Let’s go.”
When the silver needle didn’t change color, Roland finally smiled in satisfaction.
“Let’s move!”
Alden followed him toward the cliff.
