Chapter 42 Frost King Is Being Fountain Camped!
A sharp, cold glint flashed in Alden’s eyes.
For any player, no matter the level, getting fountain camped was pure humiliation.
For Alden–who had been reborn–it was even worse.
Even with all the pressure on him, he wasn’t planning to stop fighting.
“Ice Spell: Freeze!”
The potion shop owner swung his staff, frost spreading under Alden’s feet.
Ding! “You’ve been hit by Ice Spell. Attack speed reduced by 10%, movement speed reduced by 10%, lasts 5 seconds.”
Alden’s brows tightened. That Purifying Pendant is a lifesaver. Without it, I wouldn’t even stand a chance.
It looked like they already understood he had control immunity.
Once the five NPCs he focused on dropped to low HP, they backed off to heal.
The other ten just doubled down on attacking.
“A wheel–like formation?”
Alden’s eyes narrowed.
His stats were strong right now.
Every basic attack with the Bloodthirst Necklace restored over 2,000 HP, and Quintuple Shot healed more than 10,000.
‘lus, fighting inside the revival altar let him heal passively. Without that, he wouldn’t survive their nonstop attacks.
But Quintuple Shot drained his focus fast. So Alden switched to single arrows.
His HP dropped faster that way, but it saved enough mental energy that, if he didn’t dodge on purpose, he could slowly recover his stamina.
The trade–off?

Camped!
One arrow at a time, no dodging–and his HP started falling fast.
He was losing 20,000 HP per second.
With just over 200,000 total, he only had seconds before hitting the floor.
“I can’t hold on any longer!”

Alden switched back to Quintuple Shot, trying to boost his healing and buy a little more time.
But it was like pouring water on a raging fire.
His healing went up, sure, but he was still nowhere near enough to stop the HP loss.
After three brutal minutes, Alden fell.
His level dropped from nine to eight.
Thirty seconds later, he respawned at the revival altar, and the moment he appeared, they were on him again, a storm of skills coming from all directions.
The back of his neck prickled.
In all his lives–past and present–the only time he’d been this frustrated was when Jovan tricked him into death.
But Alden wasn’t about to just stand there. He fought back with everything he had.
Right now, he cared only about not losing his Ninefold Longbow or Bloodthirst Necklace.
They were part of his three most important items–the Ninefold Longbow, the Bloodthirst Necklace, and the Purifying Pendant.
He couldn’t drop the Pendant, but there was always a chance he’d drop the other two.
This time, Alden lasted another three minutes.
Just before dying, he put both the Ninefold Longbow and the Bloodthirst Necklace into his backpack.
Items inside had a much lower drop rate, and with how much stuff he had in there, the odds of losing either were tiny.
Luck was on his side–he didn’t drop any equipment this time.

But now he’d fallen to level seven.
And he saw the Village Keeper returning.
The next round was going to be even worse.
Thirty seconds later, he respawned again.

Camped!
The Village Keeper stood there, cold eyes locked on him.
“Frost King, do you get it now? This is what happens when you cross me. I can fountain camp you until
you can’t leave Rookie Village.”
His voice dripped with killing intent.
Alden snorted. “If you think you can pull that off, go ahead and try.”
Right after speaking, he attacked first.
Don’t be fooled by how he only lasted three minutes last time–Quintuple Shot had boosted his max HP by over 8,000.
These NPCs were tough, but at least they didn’t die in two hits like normal monsters, which made stacking HP easier.
This time, his True Damage went up by 150, but it was not much against enemies hitting over 1,000 per strike.
With the Village Keeper joining in, Alden lasted barely a minute before falling.
The reason was simple: the Keeper’s ultimate killed him before his HP dropped below 10%, so Alden couldn’t trigger Withered Tree Reborn’s passive effect.
Even so, in that one minute, he stacked another 2,000 HP.
Every Quintuple Shot still gave him +15 HP.
With Alden’s attack speed over 4, he was stacking 60 HP every second.
As long as he wasn’t controlled, he managed to gain 2,000 HP in just a minute.
The payoff? The Bloodthirst Necklace healed him more, and his basic attacks dealt 60 extra True Damage.
It wasn’t a huge boost at the time, but Alden didn’t quit!

Bit by bit, he’d build it up.
Camped!
He could revive forever. The Village Keeper and his crew couldn’t.
They wouldn’t dare destroy the revival altar.

If the altar fell, Rookie Village would be gone, and the Keeper’s role as village guardian would be meaningless.
Plus, if it went down, Alden would respawn straight in the main city.
