Ding! “You are the first to kill Apothecary Amy. We will make a server–wide announcement. Would you like to hide your nickname?
“Hide!”
“Server–wide announcement: Congratulations to the player with the hidden nickname for being the first to kill Apothecary Amy. This announcement is made with the hope that all players will continue to strive forward.”
“Server–wide announcement: Congratulations to the player with the hidden nickname for being the first to kill Apothecary Amy. This announcement is made with the hope that all players will continue to strive forward.”
The server–wide announcement echoed across the game, but barely caused any reaction.
After all, killing any level–ten–or–above boss triggered a first–kill announcement, and lately, many guilds had been claiming their own first kills.
Still, Skyspire Shield’s eyes lit up the second he saw this one.
Because this announcement showed only one name. Whoever killed this boss had done it alone.
Sure, other players had hunted bosses solo recently, but most didn’t hide their names.
If it were just that, he wouldn’t care much.
What really shocked him was that, in his friends list, Frost King’s level jumped from level one straight to level five.
There was only one explanation.
Alden was the one who killed Apothecary Amy, and the huge XP haul had boosted him multiple levels at once.
As for why Alden hid his name, it wasn’t because he feared other players.
It was because he had no clue what kind of chaos destroying Rookie Village would cause. And in Twilight of the Gods, NPCs weren’t harmless quest–givers. They could hold grudges.

And if they realized you’d destroyed a whole village, who knew what kind of wrath they might bring later.
Ding! “You are the first to kill a Bar Waiter. We will make a server–wide announcement. Would you like to hide your nickname?”
Ding! “You are the first to kill Rookie Village Hunter. We will make a server–wide announcement. Would you like to hide your nickname?”
Ding! “You are the first to kill Tailor Rachel. We will make a server–wide announcement. Would you like to hide your nickname?”
“Hide.”
“Server–wide announcement: Congratulations to the player with the hidden nickname for being the first to kill Bar Waiter. This announcement is made with the hope that all players will continue to strive forward.”
Soon, the whole Lardovia region of Twilight of the Gods lit up with one server–wide announcement after another.
At first, not many noticed Alden’s killing of Apothecary Amy.
But now, the endless flood of announcements had the entire game buzzing.
“Holy crap!!”
“What the hell’s going on? Who is this impressive player? Is he slaughtering Rookie Village?!”
“Wait, every single one of those names is an NPC from Rookie Village!”
“Which maniac has the guts to wipe out Rookie Village?! I never even dared to imagine that!”
At Skyspire Club, Skyspire Shield’s hands shook with excitement.
Others didn’t know who was behind this massacre, but he did.
Frost King!!

It has to be Frost King!!
Because now, Frost King is already back at level ten.
There’s no way that’s a coincidence.
And now it finally makes sense why Frost King was fountain camped earlier.
It wasn’t the players doing it. It was the NPCs of Rookie Village.

Skyspire Shield didn’t know how Alden was managing to kill so many of them, but he didn’t care. He was hyped.
At Rookie Village, the Village Keeper watched his underlings fall one by one, and his furious roar shook the air.
“Frost King, are you insane?! What the hell are you trying to do?!”
Alden’s face stayed cold. “Didn’t I tell you before? I’m here to personally send you to your death.”
The Keeper’s face flushed with rage.
“Frost King, you’ve gone too far!
“Even if I have to drag you down with me today, I won’t let
you
win!”
The moment the words left his mouth, the aura around the Village Keeper flared into violent rage mode.
But he didn’t attack Alden right away.
Instead, his attacks targeted the revival altar.
Alden’s expression changed instantly.
“Oh, no!!”
If the Village Keeper destroyed the altar and then used a blue–grade talisman, all of Alden’s work could be erased in an instant.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…

Alden didn’t waste a second.
Feathered arrows flew from his bow, each one aimed at the Keeper’s weak spots.
“Ultimate body!
“Rage mode!”
The Keeper roared, pushing his strength to the absolute limit.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Alden fired again–and from inside the revival altar’s area, he struck first, destroying the altar himself.
The instant it shattered, a blaring alarm echoed across all of Twilight of the Gods.
“Alert! Alert! Rookie Village’s revival altar has been maliciously destroyed! All adventurers can no longer enter Rookie Village and will now spawn directly in the main city. Any adventurer currently in Rookie Village will also respawn in the main city upon death.”
The repeated broadcast left players across the
game
stunned.
“It’s from that fight earlier–the one killing all the Rookie Village NPCs. He destroyed the revival altar.”
“What’s his endgame? Once the altar’s gone, all level–one players spawn in the main city.”
“Damn, that’s brutal. Newbies are screwed. The weakest mobs in the main city are level ten— what are they supposed to grind?”
The whole game was in chaos.
Many players were cursing the guy who destroyed the altar, dragging his entire family into it.
After the altar fell, Alden went all–in on the Village Keeper.
The Keeper was livid, desperate to tear Alden apart.
But Alden stayed calm. He’d seen worse in his last life.
