Game Over Not Over for Me novel Chapter 63

**Chapter 63: The Fall of the Silver Captain, Marshall!**

In the midst of a life-altering decision, Alden found himself weighing his options with a heavy heart. The second choice loomed like a storm cloud, fraught with peril and uncertainty. To gamble on a one-in-a-thousand chance for an instant kill felt like sheer madness, especially at such a critical juncture.

He cast a quick glance at his Cycle of Death skill, the numbers dancing in his mind. Just seven more points were needed for a rank-up, and nearby, Bloodback Mystic Turtles were beginning to respawn, their shells glistening under the dim light.

“Could I really do it?” he pondered, calculating the odds. Seven kills with his attack speed of 5.63, level up Cycle of Death, then strike down the Silver captain? The plan seemed plausible, almost within reach.

Yet, deep down, Alden recognized the inherent danger. The risk was far too great.

With resolve solidifying in his chest, he opted for a third choice: Run.

But merely running wouldn’t suffice.

With a surge of adrenaline, Alden launched himself into the depths of Blackwater Lake. The water enveloped him like a dark shroud, deep and bottomless, as he hastily stowed his gear and dove with all his might.

Just then, he felt the Silver captain finishing his ultimate attack, a sense of dread washing over him. The spear, imbued with deadly energy, hurtled toward him with alarming speed.

Boom!!

The impact was catastrophic, the spear striking the water and sending a colossal spray soaring high into the air. Alden could feel the force of the attack even from beneath the surface, a terrifying reminder of the danger he was in.

He quickly switched to his shield, bracing himself for the onslaught.

-349580

A staggering damage number flickered above his head, a testament to the power of the Silver captain.

Alden gasped, “I’m not dead yet. There’s still hope.”

Panic surged through him as he swam frantically toward the shore, his heart racing.

Upon reaching the land, the first thing that surged through his mind was to attack the Bloodback Mystic Turtles. He didn’t hesitate.

While healing, the familiar sensation of ranking up washed over him, and he felt the power of the Cycle of Death increase to two stars.

Cycle of Death: 2 Stars

Effect: Your attacks have a 1% chance to instantly kill enemies.

Cooldown: None.

Consumption: None.

Proficiency: 3/10,000 (Note: Gain 1 proficiency for killing monsters, NPCs, or adventurers at or above your level.)

Alden had just dispatched ten Bloodback Mystic Turtles in rapid succession, feeling a rush of exhilaration as he gained additional proficiency.

But there was no time for celebration; the Silver captain surged from the depths behind him, breaking through the water’s surface with a menacing roar. His spear blazed with a fierce intensity as it lunged directly toward Alden’s face.

With reflexes honed by countless battles, Alden spun around, unleashing a Quintuple Shot while maintaining his distance.

Without his rage mode activated, the Silver captain posed less of a threat than he had anticipated.

His damage output? Alden could easily heal from it.

But as a Silver-level boss and the captain of Astralon’s royal guards, the Silver captain was indeed formidable, and he was not to be underestimated.

Especially after his brief dip in Blackwater Lake—it had seemed to temper his rage.

“Everyone! Activate rage mode and ultimate body! Attack with everything you’ve got!”

The nineteen Bronze guards surged forward, their eyes blazing with fury and determination.

Alden felt a shiver run down his spine as he quickly retreated, firing off another Quintuple Shot.

Boom!

His eyes widened in disbelief, a grin breaking across his face.

The Silver captain had fallen.
