Chapter 1736 100

Fanelei didn't know what emotion she was feeling. Quite frankly, she was a bit numb right now.

She knew what sort of talent in Rune Mastery Sylas had. But Rune Mastery and combat prowess were two very different things. Trying to use one for the other was extremely difficult, especially when you were in the lower tiers.

The lower your tiers, the more worthless your Rune Mastery was in the real world.

If one took Sylas' Rune Mastery and perfectly translated it to the S-tier, even calling him a monster would be underselling him by an unfathomable degree. At that level, the world would no longer suppress him in the slightest, as there was no world that existed beyond the S-tier to begin with.

He would easily become a God amongst men. If he wanted a tree to grow, it would grow. If he wanted to pluck the stars from the skies and use them as a night lamp, he could. If he wanted the oceans to dry and the mountains to melt into new rivers and lakes, it would be as simple as a thought.

However, the lower your tier in Rune Mastery—especially when you were in a Horizon that restricted and limited you the more resistance the world had. Your power wouldn't be able to truly show itself unless you were in an F- tier world without any Runes beyond that.

And yet... Sylas had actually been hiding so much power.

She didn't have a perfect full slate of memories from the version of her within Sylas' Madness Key, but she knew that it shouldn't have been this exaggerated.

In fact, she had another point of contact with Sylas' feats as well-that being her granddaughter. But Leia couldn't believe what she was seeing either.

Sure, Sylas had defeated her, even killed her, but he had taken advantage of an F-tier world and he had struggled. Had he really been hiding that much power this entire time?

It was then that something settled in for them. They knew it already, but they hadn't truly grasped the heft of it until this moment.

Unlike what the Seeing Eye Guild thought, or even what the other Ancestors of the Weaver Guild believed, the two of them knew that Sylas had hardly received any help from them at all.

Sylas went through life in this dangerous universe hiding as much as he could because he never knew when another enemy he couldn't defeat would make their presence known.

Maybe the last people to truly see him fight all out were the people of Earth right before he succeeded in the Summoning. Since then, there had always been things he didn't use outright.

In fact, even now, there were still things he wasn't revealing. Even those with the sharpest of eyes, piecing and cobbling together various hints to try and paint a full picture of who and what Sylas was, didn't quite have as good a grasp as they hoped.

None of them even knew what Void Rune Mastery was; they had no idea what Sylas had done to get himself out of that situation. They didn't even have a word for Pure Spark Mastery, let alone what was above it.

While they might have some legends and small tidbits about the former, the latter was so far beyond them that even Ancestor Zeekr couldn't wrap his head around it.

And then there was that Monkey King Armor... they were certain that armor didn't exist in the Emperor Sanctum. Where had Sylas gotten it from? Did he actually create it from scratch?

And that Aether... he had been using Glassvolt this entire time, but where had that black and silver Aether come from?

No, forget the Chaotic Space Aether... what of those grey flames? Those grey flames that seemed capable of erasing everything they came into contact with... Every aspect of Sylas seemed more impossible than the last. Just how did an F-tier manage to hide so much of himself from the world around him? It simply didn't make any sense at all.
