Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 1882

Fanelei managed to stabilize Sylas' condition. For some reason, she found herself worrying about him.

She should hate this young man, but he also felt like the only way she could ever get to the S-tier.

Many of the memories of her life as the little girl were twisted, suppressed, and severely weakened. But the situation had somewhat changed after Sylas lost the Madness Key, because it also meant that the spirit within was gone, which allowed her to feel the full range of those memories and emotions once more.

On the one hand, this should have meant that she was free of Sylas' control. But on the other... it increased the fear she had for Sylas severalfold.

There wasn't a single fiber of her being that felt Sylas would ever come back to the Weaver Guild without anything to protect himself. If he was coming, it meant that his leverage on her either hadn't disappeared as easily as she considered, or that he had another, even greater trump card to deploy when he wanted.

What this added memory gave her more context on, though... was the path of Sylas' growth. π—³πš›π—²π•–πš πšŽπš‹π—»π—Όπ•§π—²π₯.𝚌𝚘𝐦

She had been there from the very start, unlike others. From the very moment he cleared the Madness Dungeon, to his fight for Castle Main, up to him picking out traitors she never even saw coming herself.

She still remembered when Sylas picked out Alex and Lauren. There had been no reason for him to suspect them at the time at all. Even at the time, she hadn't had any idea how he had done it until running simulations and going through her own memories several times.

It was only then that she realized he picked out their betrayal by nothing more than their reactions to his Madness, reactions that had occurred days ago and should have been easily overlooked-especially by someone who hadn't even used the Comprehension for more than a week at that point.

There were several times she mused she was screwed, that her spirit had ended up tied to someone who was destined to die. The odds stacked against Earth were too great, too numerous, too deep.

From Legacy, to the Thryskai, and then even to the First Race. The Dogons, the Clypsians, the infighting of Humans themselves.

The odds were impossible. Fanelei didn't know a single person who could have survived. Even if she had spawned in with all of her knowledge, and all she had to do was make it from Level O to a level where she could survive... Even she didn't feel like she had even a 5% chance of doing what Sylas did.

He defeated the Sylphs, unearthed the plans of the Thryskai, causing the deaths of an entire Demi-God Clan. And then he managed to become the Progenitor of the dying world when it had so very little left to give.

And yet that had only been just the very beginning. Rather than staying on Earth and reaping the rewards, he left.

He faced the Golden Grove, taking control of an organization much stronger than himself.

He then left for the 073 Sanctum, somehow turning one of the world branches of the Emperor Sanctum into the best in not even a matter of a year.

He faced off against the best talents of the Mortal Realm, achieved levels of Rune Mastery that should have been impossible even in the God Realms, somehow killed a Cryst Emperor while a tier weaker than them, and decided the fate of one Clan reaching Demi-Godhood, only to change his mind and hand the keys over to another power all because their young master pissed him off.

Now, he had somehow stepped onto the world of a Progenitor by accident, mistakenly attacked the wrong person, and nearly died as a result of it. And yet, rather than fleeing with his tail between his legs, he concocted a plan that nearly took the life of this very Legend Progenitor in a single strike.
