"I..." Elara cleared her throat again, still uncomfortable. She looked at her brother, and when she was sure that Sylas wasn't just asking her that question because he was trying to trap her into saying something stupid, she started to speak.
"When I originally detected the path, I wanted to send the puppet instead of my real body. But I knew that that wouldn't work. The puppet's connection would definitely be severed.
"But the moment you gave me the puppet I had been trying to figure out a way to send it beyond Earth."
Elara cleared her throat once more as though revealing her misdeeds to her brother was the worst thing she had ever been through.
"Honestly, being able to craft flesh was just a byproduct of that. I wasn't looking to do it originally. And because I couldn't do that, I didn't have any real plans to do, well... this." She opened her hands as though to point to herself.
The more Elara spoke, the more Cassarae got curious as well. She seemed to be beating around the bush a lot. What had she done, exactly?
"But then I realized that the solution to this might actually be the Dungeon itself. Earth is very unique. It's an intersect of the Demon World and the Real World, and now it was one of the Mortal Realm and Demi-God Realm.
"As all things go, it's basically as much of a unicorn in terms of the Mesh of Reality as you can get. There probably isn't another location in the universe like it. But there was no way I could be sure of that. What I could be sure of, though, was that it was the only place with all of that that would also have Primus Luminaria."
Sylas' gaze flickered.
He had ended up taking the Primus Luminaria Title of another Sector because it was more convenient at the time, and that had vacated the Conquest Title for his little sister. He really hadn't thought much about it since then, but now that Elara mentioned it, it was like some of the puzzle pieces were starting to come together.
"The system is a little stupid." Elara said, clearing her throat again. "If the conditions are just right, you can force it to do a lot. Technically, the moment I step off of the Mortal Realm, I'm supposed to lose Titles that are tied to it. But I realized that if I could balance it just right and leave a robust enough bit of my Will behind, then the system wouldn't be sure if I was truly gone or not.
"If it wasn't sure, then it would keep anchoring me and my Title, but it would also be constantly sensing that I was in the Demi-God Realm as well and sort of... stretching the Title to function there at the same time, thus doing the linking and heavy lifting for me.
"Because it would be continuously checking, it would have to constantly keep the bridge active as well.
"My main problem after that was figuring out how to give my Will enough staying power back on Earth..."
"Your Will is eating your flesh." Sylas said.
Elara coughed again and then closed her eyes tightly, waiting for a scolding.
Sylas was right, Elara didn't have Infinite Will, and even if she did it likely wouldn't have mattered. The stretch between the Mortal and Demi-God Realms was far too insane.
The real reason Elara could do this was because she had forcefully split her Will in two, and in order to not die, she was feeding them continuously.
Any improvement that Elara's puppet made should be reflected in her main body, Sylas had crafted it like that. But by the same token, any improvement Elara's main body made should also be reflected.
