Chapter 2042: Tell Me

Sylas hadn't been wrong. He had concluded that the First Race was doing things not out of some wild attempt at revival, but instead to help the people of Earth and their descendants. He had allowed a small chance that they could still try to backstab him, but he honestly didn't count this as that.

In the position the First Race were in, the entire world called them enemies and wanted them wiped out. Without any sort of structure or help, they were forced to battle against not only the troubles of the Summoning, but to somehow also deal with the forces that came from external factors.

Sylas had to deal with the Sylphs, a mere D-Grade Race. But who knew how powerful the real enemies of the First Race had been?

After dealing with such a thing, and knowing that they would lose, they were split. In the end, they chose to split their attention much the same way.

Just like Jala's Clan had abandoned Earth, a large portion of the First Race had also done so.

The difference was that unlike Jala's Clan which relied on Legacy to do so, the First Race was far more powerful, far more clever, and far more resourceful.

They managed to accomplish this themselves.

But also unlike Jala's Clan, they didn't abandon Earth entirely either. They still had hope in their world. So they gave it protection and an evolution path for their descendants to return to power in some other form, in some other way.

However, ultimately, Earth was still their home. And somewhere out there in the universe, there was a Clan of the First Race that still believed that they had an inheritance waiting for them upon their return.

It was just that there was little they could do while Earth had still yet to be summoned. Plus, so very many years had passed since then.

While it was true that Earth was under a powerful time dilation that crafted the span of reality they experienced far longer than what occurred in the outside world, the First Race had already been utterly powerful during the First Summoning. The fact they had accomplished all of this meant that at the very least their Rune Mastery was broken even if their Race Grade hadn't quite caught up just yet.

Ironically enough, their situation was likely quite a bit like Sylas'.

However, even if only a single generation had passed since then, that was actually a bad thing, not a good thing.

If many generations had passed, and millions upon millions of years like Earth had experienced, then there was a chance that the legends passed down from their Ancestors were incomplete, that the feeling of "home" they had for Earth had long been washed away.

But let alone the fact that that was already highly unlikely, the fact so little time had probably passed for the First Race's Direct Descendants meant that those that still felt the rage of being kicked from their homes were very likely still alive, and that fury was almost certainly burning bright within their children.

And even if that hadn't been the case, Earth was too valuable. Just a small bit of recovery had already placed it back in the ranks of Gold Worlds. And you would likely never have as much compatibility with any other world as the one you were quite literally born in unless you went through an exceptional adaptation.

There was no world where this could seem to end well for the people of Earth. Even the First Race didn't imagine that things would be resolved so quickly.
