But because I know that I had contacted Natasha beforehand. For someone like her who had survived tons of thunderstorms, there’s no way she wouldn’t know how to save me in case I would drive myself to mania–a cursed phenomenon for using the abilities that the Moon Goddess cursed.
I hated the fact that I would become like the Alpha of the Montero–even worse than him if I ever lost the control of myself, but there’s no helping it.
If I let this bastard go, he would only end up killing the person I loved.
My gaze fell onto Kaya. “Go kill those who would raise their weapons at us.”
Without hesitation, Kaya went away, biting and stomping the Montero’s who raised their weapons to fight us.
I looked at the Alpha who was grinning from ear to ear. “What are you smiling at?”
He shook his head as he unleashed his murderous aura, directed solely to me. “You saw right through me. How did you
know?”
“Know what? Know that you were planning to lower my guard and kill me?” I sneered.
A flash of murderous crazed glint on his eyes as he burst into laughter. “As expected from Natasha’s bloodline! Say, if I would
eat your heart–would I be able to gain the abilities you currently have and stop this mania of mine?”
This was the reason why he planned to kidnap my son. He pretended to not know that the Nightshade’s heir had the bloodline of the Dark Moon.
And also a witch.
If he would consume the heart of a mix, for him, he would be free from his mania and would be able to control himself- regaining power and terrifying abilities.
He viewed Archer as weak, that’s why they targeted him.
But all of their plans couldn’t get through, all because Archer had been tightly guarded.
That’s why he changed his mind and planned to get me instead.
Now that he has found out about my skills and as the heir of the Dark Moon–it was way more tempting for him rather than the heir of the Nightshade.
“How did you find out?” he coldly asked, the smile on his lips had disappeared. “Did Natasha tell you?”
My eyes darkened. “Indeed. I remembered Natasha telling me about a scum man who had betrayed, used, and almost killed her. Because of someone like you, the Dark Moon had sealed itself and hid itself all because of a scurn like you.”
He licked his lips as he swiftly moved to the other side when I appeared in front of him, throwing a kick on his face. I couldn’t help but click my tongue in annoyance seeing that I didn’t get him.
“Why won’t you call me grandpa then?” he snickered.

Before he could react, I lunged forward and drove my heel straight into his face. The impact forced him back several steps, his head snapping to the side as bone cracked faintly beneath my strike.
But he only grinned.
My vision burned red.
I moved faster.
The dagger in my hand flashed like lightning. I aimed for his throat–again and again—slashing in precise arcs meant to sever arteries and end him in one clean motion.
This time the blade bit into his neck.
Blood burst outward.
Hot.
Dark.
But when I tried to push deeper-
It stopped.
His flesh was unnaturally dense. The blade sank only slightly before resistance halted it.
I clicked my tongue in frustration and twisted the weapon to widen the wound.
He laughed.
Actually laughed despite his blood oozing on his neck, falling onto the grounds that made his subordinates called out his name and tried to get through me, yet they couldn’t passed through when my wolf, Kaya held them back.
“Kill that old bastard, Luna! Leave this to us!” I snapped back from my thoughts when I heard Claude shouted.
I happened to see him who was also fighing with the wolves. “Don’t worry about Alpha Lucien and the others, those three warriors had already on their way to free them!”
Upon hearing this from him, I stopped hesitating. Since the Alpha is here and those three warriors are going to save my own Alpha, then I can rest assured and fight easy.
I watched as the Alpha’s hand came up to cover his neck, blood spilling between his fingers–only for the torn flesh to begin. knitting itself back together before my eyes.
The gash sealed.
Skin reformed.
As if I had never touched him.
He dragged his bloodied fingers across his lips and licked them slowly.

His red eyes gleamed with disturbing madness.
“Why won’t you call me grandfather?” he repeated, voice thick with amuseènent.
“I have no grandfather like you!” I snarled, attacking again.
I struck high–he blocked.
Low–I pivoted and drove my knee toward his ribs.

He caught my leg mid–air and threw me back, but I twisted and landed on my feet, launching forward again without hesitation.
“How dare you claim that position when you almost killed Grandma!” I shouted, slashing at his chest. “And you even killed your own mate! Just how disgusting are you!”
He dodged each strike fluidly, stepping around me as if we were dancing.
“Natasha?” he laughed. “It wasn’t my fault that she falls for my bullshit and it wasn’t a force either since she loves me. I heard that she had been going out a lot from her pack–oh, it seemed that she was trying to find me upon knowing that I was alive.”
Is this the reason why grandma was always busy?
I gritted my teeth as I heard him added. “I just recently recovered my memories–that woman was really viscious to strike at me, almost killing me and even erased my memories…
He paused and laughed hard. “But her ounce of kindness had lead me to this. Did she think that if she spared me and took my memories away, I would change? What a foolish woman.”
My blade scraped across his shoulder this time, drawing another line of blood that began healing instantly.
“Fuck you!”
“She was favoured you know,” he continued casually. “She had everything. Wealth, love, power–everything. Is it my fault if I wanted to take a bit of what’s hers? She’s mine anyway.”
“She wasn’t yours, you bastard!” I shouted as my attacks grew wilder.
“However, that woman was strong so I could take and eat her heart so I ate her friends heart instead—but she found out about it which was a pity and I nearly died. It was a good thing she spared me—which was why I’m still here, slowly building my own pack just for this.”
୮
The corner of his lips raised further. “Can you guess how many I have consumed just to get to this state? I even consumed that woman–whom you called my mate. She got the blood of Dark Moon so I took an interest on her–you already know what happened next.”
My breath hitched.
“And now, I will also eat you.”
“Eat my blades, bastard!”
I swung again–aiming for his eye, however, he leaned back effortlessly.
His fingers brushed against my dagger mid–swing and redirected it away from his throat.

This is getting boring,” he muttered, rolling his neck as if we were merely sparring. “Is this it? Or have I consumed so much Dark Moon blood that all of you are nothing but ants in my eyes?”
