Caroline nodded and focused her mind to test it out. A water ball appeared in her palm.

Jet darted forward and was ready to peck it. But right as his beak touched the surface–bam!

A loud noise rang out. Jet’s head buzzed like a struck bell. He shook it hard, blinking fast–and realized the “water ball” in Caroline’s hand wasn’t water at all. It was solid ice!

“Hey! Human! That’s cheating!” He squawked.

Before he could finish, the ice ball melted into a cloud of mist right before his eyes.

Water has three forms—gas, liquid, and solid.

Caroline’s ability in this life was far stronger than before. She could control all three forms at will.

She played with it for a while, turning ice into different shapes, even crafting sharp ice blades she could use as weapons.

Caroline also found she could heat the mist until it became thick steam.

Still, she couldn’t help feeling disappointed. It was her second chance in life; after soaking in spring water and acid rain for a long time, her ability was still tied to water.

Jasper once said her power should connect with other elements stored inside her space. So why couldn’t she feel them?

She sighed and bent down to wipe the water off the floor. That’s when she noticed something new–four faint rainbow stripes had appeared along her forearm like a tattoo.

Raven jumped to his feet the moment he saw Caroline shrink. His eyes went wide, and he tilted his head, clearly confused about what had just happened.

Caroline didn’t waste a second. She grabbed Raven’s face with both hands and planted a big kiss right on his nose. “Raven, I’m going to be unstoppable!” she shouted, laughing in excitement.
