Caroline frowned. The moment the chunk of ice came close to her head, it suddenly shot upward. It flew straight toward the little girl’s face.
The girl’s face turned pale with fear. The mother beside her screamed at the top of her lungs, “Murderer! She’s killing someone!”
While screaming, the woman lunged toward the child.
Just as the ice reached the girl and her mother, i instantly melted into a splash of water, dumping over their heads and faces.
Only the core in the cented frozen. It was about the size of a fist. It kept hovering
above the mother and daughter.
The woman, who had been acting proud just moments ago, was now soaked from head to toe. Her eyes were filled with panic.
“She’s an attack–type ability user! Murderer! She’s trying to kill us!” she shouted.
She hugged her daughter tightly, shielding her with her body.
Caroline looked at them and said with a smile, “So, whose head should this ice fall on?”
The moment she finished speaking, the little girl screamed loudly, “Hit my mom! Hit my mom! Don’t hit me! Don’t hit me!”
As she yelled, the girl covered her head with both hands and shoved her mother forward.
Caroline took one look and understood everything. This woman had clearly failed to raise her child properly.
If a parent failed their duty, someone else would step in.
The woman clearly never expected her daughter to turn on her like this.
She stared at the girl with wide eyes. “Sweetheart, are you trying to get me killed?”
The girl screamed back, “You should die for me! I don’t want to die! Don’t kill me!”
She clutched her head and shoved her mother again, staring at the ice above them with pure
terror.
“They say that raising a child without teaching them is the parent’s failure,” Caroline said coldly. “As a mother, this responsibility is yours.”

Killing the child over this would be too much, but punishment had to land somewhere.
She knew there was something backing them up
The mistakes made by a child must be paid for by the parent who failed to teach them.
Before the apocalypse, Caroline once saw a saying online: if you have no manners, don’t blame me for being mean.
The ice slammed straight down onto the woman’s head.
Blood burst out, staining half of her skull red.
Mixed with the water still dripping from her hair, it ran down her clothes. She looked miserable and pathetic.
That rich–lady elegance was completely gone.
In a time with little medicine, even basic treatment cost a lot of supplies.
Didn’t she brag about having plenty of resources? Didn’t she claim her husband was powerful enough to take things from others?
Then she could spend those resources paying for her actions today.
Caroline looked coldly at the woman and the child.
They weren’t villains, but the girl had clearly tried to get Caroline killed.
A lesson was necessary.
The woman clutched her bleeding head and wailed in pain.
Her daughter didn’t comfort her. Instead, she laughed happily. “It didn’t hit me! That’s great!”
Caroline stepped forward and stood beside them.
Her control over ice had already terrified them.
When the girl saw Caroline coming closer, she backed away in fear, staring at her like she was
a monster.
The woman placed one hand over her head, trembled all over, and stared at Caroline with
terror.
Caroline bent down and looked at the shaking mother and daughter. A chilling smile appeared on her face. “No matter how powerful your man is, that’s not your honor,” she said

slowly. If you can’t raise your child properly, keep her inside. Don’t let her harm others. And don’t think everyone lives well depending on a man. My name is Caroline Sinclair. I rely on myself. I’m a hundred times stronger than people like you who borrow a man’s power to act tough. I’ll be staying here for a while. In the funde, you and your daughter should stay out of my sight. And don’t mess with my friends. Otherwise, even if your man comes back, I’ll still hit you.”
After that, Caroline held out her hand. “My ice got ruined by your daughter,” she said. “And she almost got me hurt. Where’s my compensation?”
This time, the woman didn’t dare say a word. She quickly pulled five cans of food from her bag and shoved them into Caroline’s hand.
Caroline looked at them deeply and smiled. “Make better choices from now on.” The child you raise and the lessons you fail to teach–you bear the consequences yourself.
