Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 185

**The Unseen Kingdom That Followed Me Into Every Dream by Alyndra Meron Valeen 185**

As Hera stood there, her mind racing, she quickly matched the license plate number to the name she had just recalled. “Evanna White? The mother of Baron Goldman, CEO of Baron Inc.!” The realization hit her like a thunderclap, sending shockwaves through her thoughts.

Hera was momentarily paralyzed by the weight of this new information. A rush of emotions flooded her—anger, confusion, and an overwhelming sense of betrayal. She had misjudged Sebastian, and the implications of her mistake gnawed at her insides. Baron Goldman was a titan in the corporate world, a man whose influence could shake foundations. Yet, despite his power, he would never tarnish his mother’s reputation by exposing her relationship with a younger man. If Sebastian had genuinely been involved with Evanna, Baron would have ensured he was long gone from Astergrad, erased from their lives as if he had never existed.

“Why didn’t you explain? Why didn’t you explain?” she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible, laced with desperation.

Regret crashed over Hera like a tidal wave, pulling her under its relentless current. The thought of divorce had never truly been her desire; it had been a rash decision born from a moment of misguided jealousy. The truth, now laid bare before her, filled her with an aching sorrow for the choices she had made.

“What should I do now? My words have already traveled too far. Tomorrow morning, Sebastian and I are meant to stand before the courthouse, ready to sever our bonds… He must have anticipated this. That’s why he didn’t clarify anything. He wants me gone!” The weight of her thoughts became unbearable, and she sank into her chair, her mind racing with panic. “Sebastian, I won’t agree to this. Don’t even think about it!”

Suddenly, a knock at the office door jolted her from her spiraling thoughts. “Who is it?” she called, her heart racing.

“It’s me, Hera.”

Mila entered the room, her keen eyes immediately assessing the turmoil reflected on Hera’s face.

“What do you mean your fault? You’re not in the wrong!” Mila interjected, her voice firm and unwavering, twisting the narrative with fierce conviction. “Hera, don’t you find it curious that Sebastian didn’t bother to explain himself, even when he knew he was being wrongly accused? That’s because he’s guilty! He’s playing hard to get, a classic game that men often resort to!”

“Playing hard to get? What do you mean by that?” Hera asked, her brow furrowing in confusion, the fog of uncertainty clouding her thoughts.

“Think about it. Isn’t it all just a bit too coincidental? We just happened to run into Sebastian at the bar. We just happened to get harassed by those thugs. And then Ezra, of all people, just happened to show up, wildly defending Sebastian and practically pushing you to confront him about his relationship with that older woman…”

Mila’s words hung in the air, weaving a web of doubt and intrigue around Hera’s mind, leaving her to ponder the tangled threads of fate that had led her to this moment.
