"ARE YOU sure about that commission, Yuno-ya?"
Yuno gulped nervously. "Is it impossible?"
The way Nam Sori was looking at him as if he had gone crazy made him feel like his plan was stupid.
Fortunately, that wasn’t the case at all.
Nam Sori suddenly burst out laughing. "Yuno-ya, you didn’t really learn anything good in the Lab, did you?"
If someone else had joked about Yuno’s time in the Lab, he would have been offended.
But it was Nam Sori— his best friend, and someone who had lost everything in the Death Camp just like when he lost a lot of precious people in the Lab.
In short, the two of them shared a dark Chapter of their lives that they could laugh at now.
"To be fair, I learned this trick from the Death Camp," Yuno said, gently patting Nam Sori by the shoulder. "I trust you and your main ability, Sori-ya."
It was Nam Sori’s main ability that helped Yuno lead the rebellion at the Death Camp.
I’m sure the same trick would work since Bambi-ssi and the others wouldn’t expect me to do something like that.
Probably.
"We have to start filming soon, Yuno-ya," Nam Sori said in a low voice as if she was scared someone else would hear them. "Are you going to tell Esper Ki Gayoon-nim about your plan?"
Yuno’s brain knew that communication was the key to a peaceful relationship.
And my romance books taught me that keeping a secret from your partner is the cause of 80% of the problem in the story.
In the past, he would even dare to say that a damsel-in-distress hiding a problem from their capable partner was stupid. But now that he was the damsel in real life, he finally understood why sometimes, it was necessary to keep your partner in the dark.
Especially if the partner in question is as possessive and protective as Gayoon Hyung.
"If Gayoon Hyung finds out about my plan, he’ll break my legs and lock me up in his dungeon," Yuno said sternly, shaking his head. "Nam Sori, you should also hide after doing the commission. Gayoon Hyung will hunt you down for sure. So, I apologize in advance if my lover goes batshit crazy on you and the Rogue Clan."
"It’s fine. I’m afraid of Esper Ki Gayoon-nim, but my loyalty to our friendship is stronger than my fear," Nam Sori said, smiling. "Plus, Esper Ki Gayoon-nim has to win his fight against Esper Ryu Sungbin first if he wants to hunt us down."
Right?
Yuno was about to say something, but a croaked voice stopped him.
"Kids these days are really scary..."
"Leehan Hyung!"
"Leehan Oppa!"
Yes, Leehan was finally awake. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
They couldn’t see his eyes because they were covered in bandages.
But they clearly heard Leehan speak in a hoarse voice.
"I’ll call Lee Woonhak-ssi!" Nam Sori said, already bolting out of the room. "Keep an eye on Leehan Oppa, Yuno-ya!"
"I will," Yuno answered, his eyes glued to Leehan. "Hyung, do you want a glass of water?"
Leehan just nodded weakly.
Yuno quickly grabbed a water bottle from the fridge, and then he helped Leehan drink water slowly since Leehan couldn’t move a muscle.
Even his face is covered with bandages, after all.
"Leehan Hyung, I know you fought Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi to protect Sajangnim. Unfortunately, we can’t rescue Sajangnim. We’ll only be put at a disadvantage if we do. But that doesn’t mean we abandoned Sajangnim," Yuno explained. After all, he knew that Leehan would want to know what happened to Moon Noa first. "The System will protect Sajangnim until he recovers his memories."
It was something that not even Leehan knew about.
But since I already revealed Sajangnim’s secret to Haru-nim and the others, I figured Leehan Hyung deserved to know the truth after he almost died protecting our boss.
"That’s a relief then," Leehan said in a weak, hoarse voice. But he sounded relieved. "How about Haru-nim? Does he already know...?"
"Yes, and we also stopped Haru-nim since this is for the best. Please trust my decision, Leehan Hyung."
"I trust you, Yuno-ya. Aside from me, I know you won’t let Noa Hyung-nim get hurt."
Yuno nodded.
Regardless of whether he still trusted Moon Noa or not, he would still not let his boss die or even get hurt.
I won’t do that to the person who took me under his wing.
Unless Moon Noa did something unforgivable, of course.
"But I’m worried about the people left in the mansion now that I’m not there," Leehan said, his voice shaking a little. "Most of them are Civilians, Yuno-ya. If Esper Ryu Sungbin-nim could do this to me, I’m sure he wouldn’t hesitate to threaten or harm other people."
"I see," Yuno said, his brain already working hard to devise a new plan. "Leave it to me, Hyung."
Well, I guess it’s time to use Gayoon Hyung’s money.

RYU SUNGBIN raised an eyebrow when he saw who his guests were.
I thought Haru-nim would come here to rescue Noa Hyung.
But two unexpected people greeted him when he came to "visit" him.
I need to train with Matthew and Jin Sooin since my fight with Ki Gayoon is close.
Ah, I can already see where this is headed.
Ki Gayoon spent a fortune just to protect people he doesn’t care about?
I already checked, but that kid didn’t go to the hospitals in this city. Leehan probably went to Lee Woonhak’s clinic since.
And we can’t harm Lee Woonhak since his ability as a Healer is unique.
That’s why I expected Haru-nim to come and get Moon Noa from me.
I can’t harm Noa Hyung’s direct subordinates.
Yang Dal-sik, on the other hand, remained calm. "Esper Ryu Sungbin-nim, our Yuno said that our boss Moon Noa-nim will be fine," the old man said, smiling "kindly." "Our Yuno also said there’s no way you’d kill the person you truly love."
Does Noh Yuno already know...?
***
OF COURSE, Yuno was just bluffing when he told Lee Haerin and Yang Dal-sik to imply that he knew Ryu Sungbin wouldn’t hurt Moon Noa— his one "true" love.
He just wanted to make Ryu Sungbin nervous.
Because the true nature of Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi’s past relationship with Sajangnim is hidden within my boss’ missing memories.
In short, Yuno wanted Ryu Sungbin to think that he had already recovered his memories—
BOOM!
Yuno’s train of thought was cut when the beautiful garden of Ki Gayoon’s mansion suddenly exploded.
The ground shook, but he was fine.
After all, Ki Gayoon appeared out of nowhere and scooped him up.
"Hyung, did you ask Yang Youngjae-ssi to make our garden explode?"
"Yes," Ki Gayoon said, smirking. And then he raised his hand. "Watch this magic unfold, Yuno-ya."
And it was really akin to magic.
Yuno’s eyes widened in shock while watching the "magic" work.
The broken debris of the wall and the pavilion that collapsed because of the explosion became engulfed in golden lights.
And then the broken debris started coming together piece by piece.
Even the flowers and the ground that got messed up due to the explosion.
The garden suddenly went back to normal in just the blink of an eye!
"Hyung, you can restore things without touching them?" Yuno asked, impressed. "Did you get a skill upgrade?"
"That I did," Ki Gayoon said, smirking. "It’s called <Restoration>, and it’s S-Grade."
Damn.
My boyfriend is OP.
