FUCK.
Haru cursed under his breath as soon as he opened his eyes, realizing that he had lost consciousness when he was supposed to be protecting Moon Noa.
Noa-san...
He got up and looked around, realizing that he was locked up in a white room.
I’m going crazy.
That room looked like an asylum, after all.
Haru tried to teleport out of that room.
But, as expected, his ability didn’t work.
Haru then gathered his Mana in his hands, planning to break the walls.
But before he could do that...
"Haru-nim, don’t waste your time breaking the walls."
Tsk.
When Haru turned around, he frowned when he saw Jin Sooin.
And since the door behind her was open...
I should kill her quickly.
"Haru-nim, even if you get out of this room, you still wouldn’t be able to use your ability," Jin Sooin said. "This place is full of Items that null your ability as an Esper. You have to break the main Nullifying Crystal if you want your skills back. I can take you there."
"Why should I trust you?"
"Because Moon Noa will die if you waste your time killing me."
Tsk.
Haru didn’t want to trust one of Ryu Sungbin’s people, but listening to Jin Sooin seemed to be the fastest way to save Moon Noa.
That was what his instinct was telling him, so...
"Lead the way," Haru said sternly. "But one funny move and you’re dead."
Luckily, Jin Sooin didn’t do anything suspicious.
The female Esper simply guided Haru to another white room.
I guess she’s really here to help.
Anyway, the room had a huge red diamond-shaped crystal attached on the floor, like a giant eye.
Haru frowned when he noticed that standing near it was already nullifying his skills.
"You just have to break this," Jin Sooin said, pointing at the red diamond. "All the nullifying gems in this dungeon would lose its power once this gem breaks."
"You’re physically the strongest among the Top 5 Espers without using Mana," Haru commented. It was a known fact that if it were just physical strength, then Jin Sooin could surely beat both Ki Gayoon and Lee Sarang. Hence... "Why do you need me here? If your intention is to help me, you would have broken that nullifying Item for me already."
"Being sober at a time like this is already pushing my luck," Jin Sooin said, laughing shallowly. "If I directly do something against the people controlling us, then I would die. I’m not scared of dying because I know I deserve it after I betrayed my country. But I can’t die yet."
"Ah, I see."
"You really don’t care, huh?"
"Not my country, not my business. I’m only here for Noa-san."
"Haru-nim, you probably know by now that Sungbin Oppa abandoned and betrayed Moon Noa-ssi to protect him," Jin Sooin said. "Sungbin Oppa suffered all these years, but he endured for the sake of Moon Noa-ssi. You shouldn’t get in their way."
"Whether Sungbin-san was brainwashed or not would not change the fact that he committed crimes," Haru said bluntly. "I really don’t care if he sacrificed everything for Noa-san. I will not give up on Noa-san for someone who’s been hurting him all this time."
"How heartless."
"Are you not yet done here?"
"Yes, yes, I’m going," Jin Sooin said, sighing. And then she pointed at the wall. "Moon Noa-san is in the room next door."
It’s only natural for Espers to hide a skill or two.
That means the gem could only nullify Espers’ power, and not Items.
Noa-san, please wait for me.
