Hope’s POV

I reached out to my side, expecting Levi to be there, but all that greeted me was an empty space. I frowned and finally opened my eyes. It was true. I was all alone in my room.

“Levi?” I called, wondering if he had gone to shower.

However, no one answered.

I stood from the bed, but my knees buckled for a moment before I caught myself. I bit my lip, steadying myself against the mattress. What happened yesterday still lingered in my body. He didn’t even enter me, but my legs already felt weak.

I went out of the bedroom to look for him. The moment I arrived downstairs, I was surprised to see my family all dressed up so early in the morning.

“What are you doing?” Harley asked. “Get dressed. It’s your day off, right?”

“Huh? What do you mean?”

Just then. Levi went inside, his eyes instantly brightening the second they landed on me. A soft smile tugged at his lips.

“What’s happening?” I asked.

“Levi said he’d take us to the rink today,” my mom excitedly said.

“What?” I exclaimed. “Mom, we can’t go to the rink with Levi. The people are going to go nuts.”

Harley smiled. “He rented the whole place.”

I turned to Levi with wide eyes, who was sheepishly scratching the back of his neck.

“Can people even do that?”

“Of course people can. Especially if that person is Levi Reeve,” Harley said, throwing his arm around Levi’s shoulder.

Since when did these two act so chummy with each other, hmm?

“But-”

Levi walked over to me and wrapped an arm around my waist, leaning close enough for only me to hear.

“Let me do this, please,” he whispered into my ear.

“Your dad looks really excited to go.”

I looked at my dad then.

“Fix my shoelaces, Harley,” he said.

Harley clicked his tongue. “You can’t even walk, Dad. You don’t need tied shoelaces.”

Even so, he bent down without another complaint and carefully fixed Dad’s shoes.

1 pursed my lips.

Well, it truly had been a while since my dad had gone to the rink. Usually, he would only watch from the sidelines, but the

last time he had actually stepped onto the ice was before his stroke.

Although it had become one of the most traumatic memories of his life, I also knew he missed it. He missed the ice. He missed the feeling of gliding across it, even if his body could no longer do what it once had.

I turned back to Levi and found him already looking at me with certainty.

He did all of this… just for my family?

He was making me fall for him more and more.

“Wait for me.” I finally said. “You should have told me so I could’ve woken up earlier.”

“Make it fast. Sis! I’ve been dying to play.” Harley called out.

We arrived at the rink, and it seemed Levi had done far more than pull a few strings. The moment we arrived, the guards immediately escorted us through the private back entrance.

Then, the owner of the rink personally greeted us and assured us that we wouldn’t have to worry about our privacy.

“How much did you pay for this?” I muttered as we were escorted toward the actual ice.

“It’s actually free.” he whispered back. “I just introduced myself, and the owner said it would be an honor.”

I shook my head at him, but he only smiled.

“Well, I’ll leave you for now.” the owner said, though it seemed he wanted to stay. His eyes kept drifting back to Levi with admiration.

“Please call me if you have any other requests, and please feel free to use the rink whenever you would like. I never thought I would be able to have a legendary player here.”

“Thank you, sir.” Levi said, offering his hand.

The owner stared at it with shining eyes before eagerly taking it.

On the other hand, I was just as shocked.

I knew Levi was growing more comfortable with human contact, but to think he would be the one to offer a handshake first felt like a miracle.

We were finally left alone.

The three men quickly made their way onto the ice while my mom and I sat on the bleachers to watch them.

Harley and Levi helped my father put on his gear. They adjusted every strap carefully, making sure he was comfortable before guiding him onto the ice.

Then, Levi began wheeling my father around while Dad tried to score despite his shaky hands. Every successful shot made him laugh, and every miss only made Harley tease him louder, filling the empty rink with echoes of laughter.

Despite it being such a happy moment, I couldn’t help but tear up at the sight.

In the end, a single tear escaped, but before I could wipe it away, my mom had already leaned over and gently brushed it from my cheek.

I turned to her and smiled, trying my best to hold the rest of my tears back.

“Are you happy?” she asked softly.

I bit my lip and nodded.

“I’m happy too,” she muttered.

“You’ve grown up to be beautiful and kind despite the difficult situation you were in. You had to grow up much earlier than your peers, but I’ve never once heard you complain.”

“I always felt like the universe was too unkind to a girl like you. It kept taking and taking, and I wondered if it would ever give something back.”
