The car drove smoothly. The interior was quiet, save for the faint hum of the air conditioning.

Sienna leaned against the window, her expression exhausted as she watched the neon lights blur past.

"What are you thinking about?" Lucas's voice broke the silence.

Sienna snapped back to reality and shook her head. "Nothing."

"Still bothered by what happened earlier?"

"It was just a circus. Not worth my energy," Sienna replied coolly.

Lucas studied her aloof profile and remained silent for a moment before speaking up. "Sienna, you don't have to use this method to provoke him."

His tone was gentle, laced with an undeniable trace of heartache.

"When you hurt others, you end up hurting yourself, too."

Sienna stiffened slightly, turning her head to look at him.

The shifting city lights danced across his handsome features, highlighting the depth in his eyes.

"You noticed?"

"It wasn't hard to tell," Lucas said. "Every single reaction you had toward Grant was highly calculated. You deliberately gave him the cold shoulder and intentionally got close to me just to push him to his breaking point."

"So what?" Sienna didn't deny it.

"He owes me, and I'm going to make him pay it back piece by piece." Her voice was deadly calm, yet carried a bone-chilling frost.

Seeing the buried pain in her eyes, Lucas swallowed hard.

He wanted to tell her to let it go, to stop torturing herself. But he knew those words meant absolutely nothing to the Sienna sitting beside him.

Some wounds could only be healed with the blood of the one who inflicted them.

A short while later, the car came to a smooth stop outside Sienna's apartment building.

"Head inside and get some rest."

Lucas leaned over, reaching across her to unbuckle her seatbelt.
