Hunter turned her phone screen around. It displayed the original text from The Sullivan Group's assistant, the phrasing so polite it bordered on cautious.

"...Evelyn greatly admires Ms. K's artwork and her handling of today's events. She is hoping for the opportunity for a private meeting, if it is convenient for Ms. K..."

"It sounds like pretty standard admiration." Hunter pulled her phone back. "Maybe she just really likes you and wants you to give some pointers to their spoiled daughter."

"They have a daughter?" Sienna asked.

"Sabrina," Lucas nodded, his voice dropping slightly as he weighed his words.

"Raised in the lap of luxury since she was a baby."

"She's quite arrogant. She's caused Arthur and Evelyn their fair share of headaches."

As he spoke, his fingertips unconsciously traced the edge of his teacup.

Sienna didn't respond. She just lifted her cup to her lips.

The tea had already gone completely cold. It slid down her throat, entirely tasteless, incapable of holding even a sliver of warmth.

She set the cup back down on the table, her movements so delicate they didn't make a sound.

Outside the window, those withered leaves continued to spin, as if toyed with by some unseen hand.

"Whatever their reason is," she finally spoke, her tone perfectly flat.

"Since they're your acquaintances, they shouldn't cross any lines."

"It's just a meeting. I accept."

Hunter shot a glance at her, then over to Lucas. She didn't miss either of their expressions, but she decided not to press the issue.

Lowering her head, her thumbs flew across the screen.

She replied to the assistant, nailing down a specific time for the meeting.

Lucas, however, wasn't ready to let it go.

His hand paused mid-air, a fine mist clinging to his teacup.

He looked up at Sienna, his gaze lingering on her face for a full two seconds.

"I'm going with you."

Sienna met his eyes, a flicker of curiosity in her gaze.
