"Who told you to be so pathetic? An ugly freak like you trying to seduce Mr. Gauthier? Who do you think you are?"
She stood up, looking down at Sienna with a haughty glare. "You brought this upon yourself."
Sienna gripped her mouse, her knuckles turning white.
Sienna's lips parted, her voice so hoarse it was barely audible.
"I didn't seduce him."
"Stop acting in front of me. Did you think I'd be fooled by a manipulative little hypocrite like the rest of the guys? You make me sick."
Ignoring Sienna's reaction, Zoey stood up straight, dusted off imaginary dirt from her hands, and reveled in her misfortune.
"Oh, by the way, don't forget Ms. Zeller said you can't leave until the data is organized."
"Take your time."
With that, she spun around, went back to her desk, swiveled her chair, and continued gossiping with her neighbor.
Time ticked by, and the workday finally ended.
The office instantly came alive as people packed their bags and made dinner plans.
"Let's go, want to try that new steakhouse?"
"Yes. Hold on, let me touch up my lipstick."
Zoey walked past Sienna with her bag, intentionally slowing her pace to glance at the progress on her monitor.
More than half of it was still incomplete.
"Tsk, tsk. Looks like you'll be working overtime until tomorrow. Good luck."
The group walked away, chatting and laughing.
With Zoey's big mouth, the entire company had probably already heard about Sienna by now.
As a result, the employees deliberately turned off all the lights in the office as they left, including the one directly above her.
"The company is our home, protecting it depends on everyone," an employee said with a sly grin as he flipped the switch. "Don't waste electricity, you're part of this too."
After he left, the entire floor fell dead silent, leaving Sienna as the only person sitting in the dark.
Time flew by, and as midnight approached, the data still wasn't finished.
Frustrated, she slammed the files onto the desk, grabbed her purse, and turned to leave.
But the moment she stepped out of the company doors, Grant called her.
Sienna answered, and a freezing voice came through the line: "Are you done with your work?"
She stayed silent for a few seconds before finally speaking. "No."
"Then why aren't you working on it? Do you need an invitation?"
Sienna wasn't going to humor him. "I don't want to do it anymore. If you want it done, do it yourself."
Right after she spoke, she vaguely heard a cold laugh from the other end.
"If you don't do it, I'll have to tell Eleanor that you're refusing to follow orders."
"When she asks about it, don't blame me."
