Lyla's eyes practically overflowed with triumph, though she forced her lips into a downward curve, feigning panic.

Stepping forward, she gently tugged at Madeline's sleeve, her voice soft and perfectly soothing.

"Madeline, she's just doing this because she's so obsessed with Grant. She's acting out to get his attention. Please don't let it upset you."

"Didn't you say you had something to discuss with Grant? Let's go."

Hearing Lyla's words, Madeline's expression softened slightly, though she still shot a venomous glare at Sienna on the floor.

"Let me warn you: stay out of my sight. You make me sick. If you cross me again, I'll end you!"

With that, she and Lyla turned and headed toward the executive suite.

Grant didn't spare Sienna another glance. He walked right past her, the breeze from his tailored suit carrying a hurtful, icy chill.

It was as if she wasn't his wife at all, but merely an annoying janitor who had dirtied his floor.

It wasn't until the heavy doors of the suite clicked shut that the stifling atmosphere in the office finally lifted.

The mocking stares focused on Sienna like spotlights.

"Tsk, did you see that? The moment the real girlfriend shows up, the fake gets put in her place."

"I thought she was tough, but she can't even get off the floor."

Zoey crossed her arms, sauntering over to Sienna with a gloating smirk.

"Not so arrogant now, are you? Weren't you acting all high and mighty a minute ago?"

Sienna lowered her eyes, looking at the scattered papers before her.

The data she had painstakingly entered while burning up with a fever lay in pieces, much like her own life.

Suddenly, she realized how utterly foolish she had been to ever love Grant.

She slowly got to her feet. Zoey, assuming she was about to give in and pick up the files, let out a triumphant scoff.

Instead, Sienna simply grabbed her purse and straightened her posture.

Without looking at anyone, or glancing back at that tightly shut door, she turned and headed straight for the elevator.

Once she finished packing, she carried her suitcase into the foyer, only to be met with a shrill, mocking voice.

"Well, well. What do we have here?"

Susan stood with her arms crossed, leaning against the doorframe with a sneer.

"What, sneaking out to fool around behind Mr. Gauthier's back again?"

Sienna ignored her, grabbing the handle of her suitcase and making for the door.

Susan stepped right into her path, blocking the exit.

"Move," Sienna demanded coldly.

"I won't. What are you going to do about it?" Susan retorted, emboldened by her years of service to the family.

"You've been leeching off the Gauthier family for eight years, and now you think you can just pack up and leave? Not a chance!"

"For eight years, I haven't touched a single dime of the Gauthier family's money. I even paid for the groceries to cook Grant's meals out of my own pocket."
