The other end of the line fell dead silent.

Grant leaned against his desk, gripping his phone.

Down in the lobby, Samuel and the others were still making a massive scene.

Fiona grabbed the sleeves of passing employees to sob her grievances, while Simon shoved his bandaged hand right into the camera lenses, shouting that the Gauthier family owed the Sawyers.

The three of them were rotten to the core, their greed seeping from their clothes right down to their bones.

Grant frowned in disgust, but he continued to wait for Sienna to speak.

Because he knew she would beg him.

She used to be terrified of embarrassing the Gauthier family.

Now that her relatives were causing a riot in the Gauthier Group lobby, dragging the family's dignity through the mud, how could she not panic?

Finally, there was movement on the other end. Sienna spoke.

"Grant, I think you're fundamentally misunderstanding something."

Her tone wasn't angry, wronged, or even cold.

It carried the casual indifference of someone who had walked far away and was merely glancing back at the roadside scenery.

"The debt Samuel owes has nothing to do with me. If he wants to cause a scene at your company, that's his problem, not mine."

"If you want to throw them out, throw them out. If you want to call the cops, call the cops. Telling me about it is completely pointless."

Grant's smirk froze on his lips.

"As for begging you..." Sienna's voice trailed off, as if she were contemplating just how absurd his words truly were.

"Who the hell do you think you are?"

The moment the words landed, she ruthlessly hung up.

The dial tone was brief and piercing, leaving an awkwardly tense silence in the office.

Furious, Grant ground his teeth together and roared, "Sienna Sawyer!"

"Assault! The Gauthier family is assaulting us!"

Tucked in the corner of the sofa, Simon paused eating his potato chips. He tossed the empty bag onto the front desk, stood up, and whipped out his phone.

"I got it! I got it all on video! I'm posting this online right now so everyone can see how the Gauthier family bullies the weak and turns their backs on their own!"

The lobby was in absolute chaos.

The crowd of onlookers swelled, their phones raised even higher than Simon's. The security guards were caught in a dilemma; in the scuffle, Samuel's shirt collar was ripped open, exposing his yellowed undershirt.

Just then, the sharp, rhythmic sound of leather shoes striking the marble floor echoed from the main entrance.

The footsteps were unhurried, each one landing with steady authority.

Everyone's attention was instantly drawn to the sound.

Lucas wore a dark gray cashmere overcoat over a pure black turtleneck, looking so impeccably put together that he seemed entirely out of place in this farce.

He was followed by two sharply dressed assistants in tailored suits, one of them carrying a briefcase.
