She knew a man like Mr. Blackwood wouldn't just let this go.

But she wasn't afraid.

Pushing open the heavy doors of the underground club, Sienna stepped into the night air, temporarily blinded by a row of glaring headlights.

Over a dozen cars were parked out front. The door of the lead black Porsche was thrown wide open, and Hunter Hale stood beside it in her loungewear, not even having had the time to grab a coat.

Behind her, Lucas Lowery leaned casually against a Maybach, his suit jacket draped over one arm and his dress shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

The moment she spotted Sienna, Hunter sprinted over and grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Sienna! Are you out of your mind?!"

She shrieked the words, her voice cracking. But her hands were trembling, and her eyes were completely bloodshot.

"Do you know you nearly gave me a heart attack when I saw your location tracker? Running off to a place like this all by yourself—what were you thinking?!"

Sienna felt dizzy from the shaking. Before she could even open her mouth to explain, Hunter caught sight of the dark, bruising fingerprints wrapping around her neck.

Hunter's face instantly drained of color.

"Who did this?"

Her voice dropped to a lethal, icy whisper.

Sienna offered a faint smile. "I'm fine."

"Fine? Look at your neck!" Hunter's voice skyrocketed again as she stomped her foot in fury. "Sienna, listen to me. If you ever pull a stunt like this on your own again, we are done. I mean it!"

Sienna couldn't even muster the energy to argue back, so she simply stood there and took the scolding.

Lucas walked over and draped his suit jacket over her shoulders, his movements incredibly gentle.

"Let's get in the car first," he said.

Sienna looked up at him. He wasn't yelling like Hunter, but his jaw was clenched tight.

He was holding back.

Lucas was the kind of man who never lost his composure in front of her. But the harder he restrained himself, the more furious he truly was.

"Enough!"

Samuel grabbed her arm and hissed, "Shut up!"

Fiona wasn't backing down. "Who does she think she is—"

"I told you to shut your mouth!"

Samuel's forehead was slick with sweat as he cast nervous glances in Lucas's direction.

He wasn't stupid.

Just by looking at Hunter's posture, he could tell she wasn't someone to mess with, let alone Lucas...

Fiona finally caught on. She grumbled a few bitter complaints under her breath but ultimately snapped her mouth shut.

Sienna finally spoke, staring at them as she enunciated every single word.

"What is the truth about my past?"
