He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 127

At the villa.

Pierce locked his phone screen, leaned his head back against the sofa, and closed his eyes in stony silence.

Alistair sat on the opposite couch, striking his cane against the floor with loud, sharp thuds. "Where exactly is Seraphina?"

Pierce casually tossed his phone toward the old man. "I can't reach her. Why don't you try, Grandpa?"

Alistair was practically smoking at the ears. He angrily swatted Pierce's hand away. "You useless fool! Getting played like a fiddle by a woman. You've completely disgraced the Prescott family!"

The phone tumbled to the floor, landing softly on the thick, plush carpet.

It didn't shatter, but it skidded quite a distance away. Pierce glanced at it lazily, couldn't be bothered to pick it up, and simply closed his eyes again to rest.

He hadn't seen Seraphina in days. Metropolitan General said she wasn't there; the State Medical Center said she'd been discharged. He'd even had Felix run a sweep of every single hospital in Hudson City, and there was zero record of her anywhere.

Alistair scoffed. "Didn't she suffer serious injuries? She must still be in a hospital somewhere. The truth is, you just don't want to find her, do you?"

Pierce cracked open one eye, a dangerous glint beneath his lashes. "My wife is missing, and I have no idea what condition she's in. Why wouldn't I want to find her?"

Alistair wore an expression that screamed, 'I saw right through your act.' He sneered. "Look at the state of you. Does that look like someone who is desperately searching?"

Pierce simply closed his eye again.
