He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 195

Seeing her act like this, the fire in Alistair's heart burned even fiercer. "What you're implying is that you suspect Seraphina? It really is her, isn't it?"

"Mr. Prescott, I didn't say that," Lyra hastily denied, though her tone sounded exactly like someone trying to cover up the truth. "It's just... recently, when I was making the bed in the master bedroom, I noticed some faint red powder under the mattress. I didn't pay much attention, I just thought the color from something had rubbed off. Thinking back on it now, that might have been the cinnabar."

Alistair asked, "Did Seraphina know you were staying in the master bedroom?"

Lyra hesitated, as if struggling to speak. "Please, sir, don't ask anymore."

"So she did know!" The anger Alistair had just managed to suppress ignited once again. "I knew it! It was definitely her!"

Lyra hypocritically tried to calm him down. "Mr. Prescott, it's just a guess right now. Please don't jump to conclusions. We can't wrong Seraphina. She and I are old classmates. I don't believe she's that kind of person."

"You silly girl! You've been victimized, yet you're still speaking up for someone else! Felix, Felix—"

Felix hurried back from paying the bills. Seeing Alistair still looking livid, he walked over quickly and whispered, "Sir, the bills have been settled."

Alistair nodded, his tone harsh. "Go to the master bedroom at the villa immediately and check if there's any cinnabar under the mattress. Tell me the moment you find anything!"

"Yes, sir. I'll go check right now," Felix agreed hastily, turning to leave.

"Wait," Lyra stopped him. "Mr. Fuller, could I trouble you with one more thing?"

Felix gave a slight nod. "Please, go ahead, Ms. Langley."

"Could you help me talk to the doctor? Ask if I can have my baby back. I want to bury him myself."

As she spoke, she sniffled, pretending to be on the verge of tears.

Felix glanced at Pierce. Seeing him nod, he agreed. "Alright, I'll go ask right now."
