"Hmph." Felicity suddenly let out a shrill, malicious laugh. "If you want me to keep this baby, you have to do something for me."
"What is it? Just say the word."
"Your wife's niece, Seraphina. I want you to call her and trick her into going to my friend's bar."
Alaric immediately grew tense. "What are you planning?"
"She's a shameless bitch! She stole Lyra's man! Pierce is obviously sick of her, leaving her to rot in that villa for three years. Isn't that clear enough? But she still clings to him like a leech. It's disgusting!"
Alaric rubbed his nose, hesitating. "What are you going to do to her if I get her there?"
"Hehe," Felicity cackled. "Don't you worry about that. I just need to help Lyra out and get some payback of my own!"
Alaric, older and wiser, easily saw through the girl's vicious scheme.
He warned her nervously, "I strongly advise you not to mess with her. You didn't see how Pierce treated her back in the day. He worshipped the ground she walked on. If you piss him off, there will be hell to pay."
"Yeah, that was the past! Lyra is carrying his child now. If he loved Seraphina so much, how did Lyra get pregnant?"
That shut Alaric up completely.
Felicity threw a tantrum. "Alaric, are you a man or not? You can't even handle a tiny little favor. You're useless."
"It's not that I don't want to help, but I practically watched Seraphina grow up. I just feel bad..."
"Then choose! Is it me or Seraphina?"
Alaric let out a heavy sigh.
"Are you actually hesitating?! Fine, forget it! Plenty of guys would love to help me! I'll take your son and marry someone else. You'll never be part of our family!"
Panic set in, and Alaric grabbed her arm. "Okay, fine! I'll do it. But you have to promise me, once this is over, bring your birth certificate so we can apply for the license."
"Ugh, you're such a boomer. We just need our IDs now!"
