He Gave Her Strawberries, Gave Me Hives (Ford and Sylvia) novel Chapter 100

Stella stayed in the hospital for another week.

During that week, she was like a soulless puppet, eating, taking medicine, and receiving treatment on schedule.

She didn’t cry, didn’t make a scene, and barely spoke.

When the nurse came to change her dressing, she would lie down cooperatively. When the housekeeper brought meals, she would mechanically put the food in her mouth, tasting nothing. The gaping hole in her chest seemed to

have been filled with a cold numbness.

The day she was discharged, the weather was oppressively gloomy, with dark clouds pressing down, making it hard

to breathe.

Stella handled the discharge procedures herself. As she stood at the hospital entrance about to call a cab, a familiar black RollsRoyce slowly pulled up in front of her.

The window rolled down, revealing Felix’s cool, noble profile. And in the passenger seat next to him sat Hazel.

Stella’s steps halted, her blood seeming to freeze in her veins.

Felix’s gaze swept over Stella’s pale, thin face. His brow furrowed almost imperceptibly before returning to its usual indifference.

He subconsciously reached out and pulled Hazel a little closer to him, a gesture of complete protection.

Get in.His voice was as cold as the awful weather.

Stella stood still, her nails digging deep into her palms.

Hazel spoke in a soft, weak voice. Mrs. Vance, please get in, it’s windy out here. I was the one who begged Felix to come pick you up. I know there have been a lot of misunderstandings. I hope you won’t blame Felix.

Hearing this, Felix glanced at Hazel, his expression softening slightly. When he turned back to Stella, his voice was again filled with that unarguable hardness. I wouldn’t have come if Hazel hadn’t insisted. Stella, think about how Hazel treats you, and how you treat her. I’ve told you, she is my bottom line. Be a proper Mrs. Vance and stop trying

to hurt her.

A proper Mrs. Vance?

Chapter 5

Stella let out a sorrowful laugh.

She didn’t want to say anything, didn’t want to have anything more to do with this man. She started to walk around

the front of the car to leave.

Stella!Felix pushed open the door, got out, and grabbed her by the wrist, his grip so tight it made her frown. Have you made enough of a scene? Get in the car!

His tone was impatient, as if all her resistance was just a childish tantrum.

Stella struggled, but his grip was too tight. She had just left the hospital, her body was weak, and she couldn’t break free.

In the end, he shoved her into the back seat.

The car drove smoothly. Stella turned her head to watch the streetscape rushing by, deliberately ignoring the glaring intimacy in the front seats.

Hazel was speaking to Felix in a low, sweet voice full of dependence. Felix, I think I caught a little cold last night. My head feels a bit dizzy.

Felix immediately reached out to feel her forehead, his tone filled with a tenderness Stella hadn’t heard in a long time. Why didn’t you say so earlier? We’ll have the private doctor take a look when we get back.

It’s nothing, I probably just didn’t sleep well.Hazel took the opportunity to rest her head on his arm.

Felix didn’t push her away. Instead, he adjusted his position to let her lean more comfortably.

Stella’s heart felt as if it were being repeatedly pierced by countless fine needles, the pain so sharp she almost curled

into a ball.

There was a time when even a small cough from her would make him frantic, staying up all night by her side, feeding her medicine himself.

Now, all his anxiety and tenderness were reserved for another woman.

Just then, Hazel let out a small Ah!looking out the window. Oh no, why is it raining? Felix, I left my clothes out to dry on the balcony this morning! My favorite set of pajamas is out there!

Raindrops began to patter against the windows, quickly becoming a downpour.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Felix flipped on the turn signal and pulled the car over on the overpass.

He looked back at the palefaced Stella in the back seat. Get a cab home yourself. I’m taking Hazel back to get her

clothes.
