Chapter 17
The woman before him was so dazzling, so captivating, more radiant than at any time he could remember!
A mixture of overwhelming awe, intense resentment, and bitter jealousy assaulted his heart!
Once, the man who stood by her side, who shared the spotlight with her, was him, Felix!
But now…
Hazel saw Stella too. She was stunned at first, then her eyes flashed with intense jealousy and hatred.
She couldn’t stand being so thoroughly outshone, and she certainly couldn’t stand being ignored.
She took a deep breath, picked up a glass of champagne, and deliberately swayed her hips as she walked up to Stella. A fake smile plastered on her face, she raised her voice intentionally.
“Well, if it isn’t Miss Winter! It’s been such a long time! You’re looking wonderful, seems you’ve completely moved on from the past? And this is… your new boyfriend? Congratulations!” Her words were laced with insinuation and provocation, trying to draw everyone’s attention to Stella’s “new romance“.
Instantly, all eyes in the room focused on this small corner.
Felix’s face turned ugly. He wanted to stop her, but it was too late.
Stella stopped, her calm gaze falling on Hazel. She looked at her as if she were an insignificant, pathetic clown.
Her lips curved into a faint smile, an arc of immense distance and disdain. She elegantly raised her glass.
“Ms. Miller, long time no see.”
She paused, her gaze flicking almost imperceptibly over to the ashen–faced Felix beside Hazel. Her voice was clear and calm, yet like a sharp, soft blade, it precisely dissected all of Hazel’s sordid past and her vain pretenses.
“And congratulations to you, for finally… getting what you wanted.”
“Getting what you wanted“-those few light words were like a silent clap of thunder, exploding in Hazel’s ears!
It laid bare all her past underhanded tactics, her calculated scheming, and her current situation, which looked glamorous on the surface but was in fact deeply embarrassing!

Chapter 17
Hazel’s face instantly flushed crimson, as if she had been stripped naked in public. She was speechless with shame and indignation, her mouth open but no words coming out.
And all the while, the man by Stella’s side, whose name was Archer Hayes, hadn’t even lifted an eyelid, treating Hazel and Felix as if they were thin air.
He simply turned his head slightly and said gently to Stella, “Stella, Mr. Davenport is over there. Shall we go say
hello?”
His tone was natural and intimate, as if they were the ones who had been loving partners for years.
“Of course.” Stella smiled faintly and naturally took his arm. They turned to walk towards the other side of the
ballroom.
Their chemistry and perfect pairing, their complete and utter disregard for him and his wife, was like a red–hot iron searing Felix’s heart!
Watching Stella’s retreating back, years of pent–up regret, resentment, jealousy, and uncontrollable rage finally shattered Felix’s sanity!
He lunged forward and grabbed Stella’s wrist in a death grip!
“Stella!” His voice was hoarse with emotion and pain, carrying an almost desperate plea. “Let’s talk! Just for five minutes! I’m begging you!”
This was the first time he had touched her since the divorce.
Her wrist was slender, her skin cool, but the touch sent a jolt like an electric shock through Felix, and a sense of…
