When I opened my eyes again, I was in a makeshift infirmary set up by the production crew.
Dahlia was sitting beside me, a pitiful look on her face. “Scarlett, you’re awake!”
“It’s all my fault. I misread the GPS and we got delayed… You’re not mad at me, are you?”
My whole body was stiff. I moved my bruised lips, but before I could answer.
I heard Caspian say decisively, “Of course not. It wasn’t your fault.”
An icy chill crept up my spine. The warmth that had just started to return to my body vanished in an instant.
After a half–hour break, the show officially started filming.
The first task was located halfway up the mountain. The path was narrow and rugged, only accessible on foot.
The sky was getting dark, and the snow was deep. One wrong step and you could easily slip.
In the past, whenever it snowed, Caspian, afraid I would catch a cold, would always patiently carry me on his back.
I once jokingly asked him, “Don’t you ever get tired of indulging me like this every day?”
His tone was doting. “You’re my wife. Taking care of you is my duty. How could I ever get tired of it?”
But now, he lifted Dahlia onto his back without a second thought, not even sparing me a glance.
I walked alone, clinging to the icy railing, stumbling forward,
As I stepped onto a stair, my foot slipped, and I fell backward, landing hard on the ground.
Caspian heard the noise and turned around. Seeing my pale face, a flicker of apology crossed his eyes. “Scarlett, Dahlia isn’t well. I have to take care of her.”
I didn’t answer. I pushed myself up, enduring the sharp pain, each step feeling like I was walking on knives.
When we reached the destination, Caspian carefully set Dahlia down and went to do his interview.
Dahlia came over to me, lowered her voice, and said smugly, “Scarlett, you must be furious, right?”

Chapter 7
“The truth is, Caspian checked the ‘divorce‘ box on every single card. He’s been sick of you for a long time.”
She straightened her back and stroked her swelling belly, her provocation clear.
“Even while you were recovering from your miscarriage, Caspian was with me, begging me to try every position in
the book.”
“Now you’re just damaged goods. He wouldn’t look twice at you.”
“He doesn’t give a damn about you or that bastard in your stomach! If you ask me, it would be better if you both just died…”
Her venomous whispers slithered through my nerves like a snake.
The thought of my innocent baby, who had died in my womb, made my blood boil and rush to my head.
“Enough! Shut your mouth!”
My eyes were bloodshot. Unable to take it anymore, I screamed and pushed her with all my might.
As she let out a cry of surprise, Caspian came rushing out.
A sharp kick landed on my lower back, feeling as if I’d been snapped in two.
Before I could even grunt in pain, my body was sent flying in a horribly contorted position.
A dull ache spread through my chest, and I coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Looking down, I saw that I had hit a tree trunk. A sharp branch had pierced my thigh, and blood was pouring out.
From above, I heard Dahlia’s sobs. “Caspian, I’m so scared… I didn’t think Scarlett would suddenly attack me…”
My head was ringing. I struggled to look up and met Caspian’s condescending gaze.
His eyes were filled with disgust, anger, and disbelief…
But there wasn’t a single trace of concern.
Just then, Dahlia cried out, “Ah! I’m bleeding! Is my baby going to be okay?”
Caspian shot me a vicious glare and said coldly, “Scarlett, if anything happens to Dahlia or her baby, I will never let
you go!”
With that, he scooped Dahlia up and started to leave.

Chapter 7
“Make her stand in the snow for ten hours as punishment. No one is allowed to help her!”
The director and crew exchanged worried glances. “But Mr. Reeves, the weather on the mountain is harsh. If she freezes for that long, she could die…”
Caspian cut them off with disgust. “She won’t die. She’s used to getting her way. She needs to be taught a lesson!”
“Anyone who dares to help her can kiss their career in this industry goodbye!”
I gave a desolate smile. The bloody foam from my mouth dripped onto my collar, blooming like a flower.
Staring at his indifferent back, I opened my mouth, each word like a drop of blood. “Caspian, you have such a cruel.
heart.”
His back stiffened for a moment, but in the end, he didn’t turn around.
The snow grew heavier, and the wind more biting. Two streams of tears froze on my face as my body temperature dropped degree by degree.
I don’t know how long it was before my agent found me, barely alive, using my phone’s location. Crying, she drove
me down the mountain.
