Chapter 10
I grabbed my head.
Everything felt so messy.
I couldn’t make sense of it.
After who knows how long, they stopped talking and appeared at my door.
Wren stared at me coldly.
She suddenly spoke up.
“Cole, can’t you see? She’s not the same Iris as before. She’s completely lost now, and she doesn’t love you anymore.”
“As long as she agrees to marry you right now, I’ll back off immediately and never bother you again. Deal?”
I moved my hands away from my head and looked at them both in confusion.
Cole seemed a bit uncertain, but he still came to my side and gently took my hand.
“Iris, don’t be scared.”
I frowned at him.
“What are you talking about?”
He brushed the messy hair away from my face.
“Every word I’m about to say is true.”
After squeezing my hand tightly for a moment, he let go and pulled a red velvet box from his pocket.
He snapped it open.
Inside was a ten–carat diamond ring, sparkling brilliantly.
Wren was shocked.
“You…”
Cole lifted my hand and gently kissed the back of it.
Somehow, I could feel his hand trembling.
Just as I was about to jerk my hand back, Cole dropped to one knee.
“Iris, will you marry me? If you say yes, Nash Industries will be yours to run.”
“And I’ll be yours too.”
Chapter 10
“I will love you forever and spend the rest of my life making amends.”
I couldn’t understand any of it.
“Cole Nash, what are you saying? I don’t understand a word.”
Was I dreaming?
I pinched myself. It hurt.
This was real.
I was completely lost.
“Iris, from now on I’ll cherish you a thousand times more, spoil you into the happiest person in the world.”
“Say yes, okay?”
“I’ve never liked anyone else. I just used to think you were always clinging to me, and it annoyed me. Some rebellious part of me wanted to push you away so I could have some peace. But in my world, there’s only ever been you. I was such an idiot.”
“I was completely wrong. You were lively and energetic, but I kept thinking it would be nice if my future wife was quieter. So I thought I was tired of you and sent you overseas, hoping you’d become more refined through experience. But I was wrong–you’re perfect as you are. You don’t need to change anything.”
