He Gave Her Strawberries, Gave Me Hives (Ford and Sylvia) novel Chapter 37

Chapter 17

That day, while doing experiments in the lab, I suddenly felt everything go black and fainted.

When I woke up, I was on a big bed.

I rubbed my head, got up and headed outside.

Once I could see the layout clearly, I realized I was at Cole Nash’s place.

I heard voices from the next room and looked over.

It was Cole Nash with a middleaged man I didn’t recognize, maybe a friend of his.

He wore glasses and had that doctor vibe about him.

Cole noticed I was awake and smiled at me.

You’re up. You were exhausted from overwork. Your parents are still out of town on business, so the hospital asked me to look after you for a

bit.

I paused for a moment.

Thanks.

Just then snow started falling heavily outside the window, everything turning white.

I couldn’t wait to go downstairs and see it.

So I went downstairs.

Naturally, I didn’t hear the conversation that continued in the room.

Mr. Nash, the delusional disorder Miss Kane has developedthis imaginary person named Finn Reed that she’s created to help herself keep livingthat’s actually a good thing.

Does she have any other health issues? Will she always be okay?

No, Mr. Nash. Miss Kane will be healthy and safe forever.

The snowflakes were beautiful.

I stood in the snow with my palms open, letting the crystal flakes fall into my hands.

Want to build a snowman?

Cole was in casual clothes, looking refined and gentle.

I didn’t answer, but I pulled out my phone, searched for a picture, and started building one on my own.

He brought over some snow to help me roll snowballs.

DANIDIDITY.

Chapter 17

Later, working together, we built a really lifelike snowman.

I took out my phone to snap a picture and posted it on Instagram.

When I looked up, I found Cole Nash smiling at me tenderly.

Iris, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you smile.

You smiled just now when you were taking the picture. It was beautiful.

That evening, I was very quiet,

But before long, Cole Nash turned away and had a violent coughing fit.

I saw blood on his handkerchief.
