He Gave Her Strawberries, Gave Me Hives (Ford and Sylvia) novel Chapter 58

Chapter 22

Two years later, at Chloe’s birthday party, Ethan proposed in front of everyone.

Dressed in a tailored suit, he knelt on one knee, holding up a velvet box, his eyes full of a deep, abiding love as he looked up at her.

Chloe, I love you. Will you marry me?

The massive diamond on the ring sparkled dazzlingly under the soft party lights.

Paige screamed and cheered wildly from the side, Marry him! Marry him! Marry him!

Chloe smiled, a radiant, happy expression, and held out her right hand.

I will, Ethan Miller.

With trembling hands, Ethan slipped the ring onto her finger. Then, like a triumphant general who had just won his greatest victory, he excitedly picked her up and sat her on his shoulders.

His eyes were red with pure emotion. Chloe said yes! I’m finally marrying the woman I love!

Chloe blushed a deep, happy crimson under everyone’s adoring gaze.

Three months later, at the wedding.

Dressed in the wedding gown, Chloe walked down the aisle towards Ethan amidst the loving blessings of everyone present.

The officiant smiled and asked in a clear, resonant voice, Chloe Sullivan, do you take Ethan Miller to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do

you part?

A gentle smile graced Chloe’s lips.

Her voice was firm and resolute, ringing with certainty.

I do.

At that very same moment, thousands of miles away, Ryan, still lying comatose in his hospital room, seemed to sense something.

A single tear rolled down from the corner of his eye.

Then, the monitor beside his bed suddenly blared a piercing alarm.

A team of doctors rushed into the room to perform emergency resuscitation.

Time seemed to slow down. The heart monitor beeped its frantic warnings, until finally, it settled into a single, long, flat line.

In his last moments of life, Ryan felt as if he had been transported back to his and Chloe’s wedding day.

He stood at the altar, watching Chloe walk towards him, step by step, his heart filled with a profound excitement and a boundless joy.
