Scarlett looked at Julian, deeply moved by the conviction in his eyes.
"Thank you, Julian. But I don't want you making things ugly with the Flynns because of my personal issues. You guys used to be—"
"Used to be. Not anymore," Julian interrupted, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Yardley and I are done. I'm serious, Scarlett. If you need it, I will mobilize the Croft family's resources. Whatever it takes... I have ways to make him hand over the baby."
Seeing the raw, unhidden concern in Julian's eyes warmed Scarlett's heart. She knew he meant every word.
But that was exactly why she couldn't accept. A favor of that magnitude was too heavy; she was afraid she'd never be able to repay him.
Bill, on the other hand, was her brother. It was different with family.
Scarlett shook her head gently, a grateful smile touching her lips.
"I appreciate the offer, Julian, I really do. I know you'd help me. But my brother already has a plan in motion. With him backing me up, you don't need to worry."
She looked up, her dark eyes flashing with a freezing, bone-chilling light.
"Who says I can't touch him? I absolutely can. It just depends on whether or not I want my brother to pull the trigger. Today, I'm going to teach him a lesson: crossing my bottom line comes with a price he cannot afford."
Julian's brows shifted slightly. Staring at the woman in front of him—as resilient as a reed but as sharp as a blade—he finally nodded, relieved.
"Alright. If your brother is handling it, then I'm at ease. But if you need anything at all, tell me. Sometimes distant water can't quench an immediate fire."
Scarlett nodded, and the two ended their private conversation.
She turned to the rest of the group, her voice ringing out with absolute certainty.
"Since you're all here, let's go see Yardley face-to-face. But we are not going there to beg him for Dawn. We are giving him one last chance."
"If he throws it away, I promise you, I will make the entire Flynn Group pay a devastating price."
Gordon and Chatwin had never seen this side of Scarlett before. The sheer authority and dominance radiating from her bones left them instinctively stunned, wondering just what kind of card she was hiding up her sleeve.
The butler looked highly uncomfortable. "I already told her that, sir. But she said she needs to speak with you face-to-face. And... this time, Mr. Croft and the two Wyatt brothers are with her. If we don't open the gates, won't we be offending both the Croft and Wyatt families?"
Yardley slammed his glass down and shot to his feet.
"You're saying Julian, Gordon, and Chatwin all came with her?"
"Yes, sir," the butler nodded.
Yardley's heart pounded violently, a dark sense of foreboding washing over him.
Good. Very good...
He didn't know what kind of spell Scarlett had cast to buy their absolute loyalty, but it was clear they had completely turned against him.
They weren't just here to keep her company. They were here as a show of force, to pressure him into giving up the baby.
