Chapter 190
The next day, Brian had left London to go to Edinburgh. He already handed over his jobs to the COO. As soon as he arrived in Edinburgh, he went straight to the Lloyd Family’s mansion. He surely knew that he would find me there deep down.
But before he could even step inside the gate, two bodyguards in black suits blocked his way.
y.”
“Mr. Herbert, no one can enter without Mr. Lloyd’s permission,” the bodyguards firmly said, refusing to let Brian in.”
Brian’s voice grew urgent as he told them to let him meet me. He then tried to push past them, but the bodyguards held their ground and didn’t budge, no matter what he said or threatened. In the end, Brian had no choice but to leave.
Not long after that, Brian wandered down the roadside until the sound of some passersby’s conversation reached his ears.
“Did you hear? The Lloyd Family is holding the wedding of the century tonight at the manor in the western suburbs. Mark Lloyd is finally getting married!“&
“Really? I heard the bride is stunningly beautiful. Mr. Lloyd even booked the entire manor and shipped in dozens of truckloads of flowers just for this wedding!“}
“Wedding?“8
Brian’s heart dropped like a stone. A terrible thought flashed through his mind. What if the bride was me?}
He couldn’t control himself any longer. He rushed forward and grabbed one of the men by the arm. Then, he asked frantically, “Which manor are you talking about? Give me the exact address!“\
Startled by Brian’s wild expression, the passerby quickly told him. Brian let go of him, muttered a quick thanks, then ran back to his car and sped toward the western suburbs. Half an hour later, he arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The moment Brian got out of the car, he saw the entire place decorated for a grand wedding. White roses and blue hydrangeas were everywhere, filling the air with their sweet fragrance. Ribbons wrapped around the streetlights. Everything looked warm, romantic and joyful.
Brian’s steps quickened. When he reached the entrance, his eyes landed on the welcome sign. His whole body froze.
I was wearing a pure white wedding dress with a flowing veil draped over my shoulders. I was smiling softly, nestled in Mark’s arms. And Mark, the heir of the Lloyd family, was looking down at me with a warm gaze.
Brian’s mind went blank. In an instant, countless memories crashed into him. He remembered the first time we went on a date, when I smiled at him with shining eyes.
He remembered the day he gave me a couple’s bracelet and how I shyly hid in his arms. He remembered the moment he proposed and how I had blushed and said yes through tears. And now, I was standing beside another man just a few days later. He smiled as if I’d never known Brian at all.
“No… No way…”
Brian quietly said. His heart felt like it was being ripped apart. Unable to hold back, he shoved past a waiter and rushed inside like a madman.\
At that very moment, the wedding ceremony had begun. I was standing at the pavilion. My hands slightly trembling as the priest looked at me with a kind smile.
“Miss Lilian Wyatt, are you willing to marry Mr. Mark Lloyd, to love and stay by his side forever, for better or worse, in sickness and in health?”
But before I could speak, a desperate voice suddenly rang out from behind the crowd.
“No!”
The entire hall fell into chaos as everyone turned toward the source of the voice, Brian was running straight toward me, shoving people aside. His eyes were looking at me with panic and desperation. He then shouted, “Lilian! Don’t marry him! Come with me!“%
