She noticed he didn’t look annoyed like before.

This guy’s feelings always changed fast.

So what did he want to say?

That was what Wynette really wanted to know.

Noah stayed quiet.

He just watched her. After a while, he finally said, “Haven’t eaten yet, right? I got a table at Noble Fork. Let’s eat and talk.”

Even though he asked her, he had already started walking out.

Wynette stayed seated for a second, watching him. Then she got up and followed.

“Wynette.” Noah stopped at the doorway. She stood up, and he quietly relaxed.

He knew it; before, she was just being stubborn. Once he softened, she’d come back to him.

A little smile crept onto his face.

Wynette, though, felt different. She was just curious what he was up to.

They got to Noble Fork.

Lorelei was there.

Her face was all smiles as she walked up to Noah. “Noah, finally! Where have you been?”

She casually hooked her arm through his.

The moment Noah saw her, his expression flickered.

He instinctively glanced at Wynette. “Wait… I didn’t expect to run into you here, Lorelei.”

Then he asked Lorelei, “What are you doing here?”

It was clear-he didn’t know she was coming.

He had planned to have dinner with Wynette, just the two of them, to talk about the days.

Lorelei caught his meaning. Her face changed slightly, showing a hint of displeasure.

She let go of his arm and said, looking a little guilty, “Sorry… did I bother you and Wynette? I didn’t mean to. I saw your reservation at Noble Fork and thought, like before, that I should

come.

“I misunderstood. My bad. I’ll leave right now. I won’t get in the way of your dinner with Wynette.”

Her eyes shimmered with fake tears as she shot him a glance and turned to leave, pretending to be upset.

Just one look, and Noah’s chest tightened.

Without thinking, he stopped her. “Since you’re here, let’s just eat together.”

The words barely left his mouth before regret hit him.

But they were already out. He couldn’t take them back.

He forced himself to ask Wynette, “You don’t mind, right?”

Lorelei was already back at his side, looking all sad. “If Wynette minds, I can-‘

“I do mind,” Wynette said fast. “So, Ms. Barlow, are you leaving or not?”

Lorelei froze. “I…”

She looked at Noah like the world had wronged her. Sweet, helpless, and cute.

And of course, Noah fell for it. Compared to confident, tough Wynette, his heart leaned toward Lorelei.

Right in front of Wynette, he grabbed Lorelei’s hand. “It’s just more people at the table. That’s fine. Let’s go.”

He led her toward the private room he’d booked.

Out of his sight, Lorelei shot Wynette a sly, teasing smile. No more fake sad act.

Wynette just rolled her eyes.

Noah should get his eyes checked, really.

From the start, Lorelei was trying to provoke her.

How did she even know he booked the room? Someone must have tipped her off.

She got there first and staged this little show.

Since she came back, stuff like this happened all the time.

Lorelei never tired of it. Wynette, watching, was already mentally worn out.

Wynette took a deep breath to calm herself and followed them inside.

Lorelei sat nicely next to Noah, who was carefully setting the utensils for her.

Wynette wasn’t surprised.

She walked over and sat across from them.

Wynette didn’t even think about touching her food. From experience, this dinner probably wouldn’t go well.

Not long after they sat down, the dishes started arriving one by one.

The table was piled with bright red, spicy food. Wynette hadn’t even started eating, and her stomach already hurt.

She had serious chronic gastritis and couldn’t handle spicy food. But Noah had ordered a whole table of it.

And of course, it was all Lorelei’s favorite.

As soon as the dishes arrived, Noah immediately started serving Lorelei.

Right now, he was carefully peeling shrimp for her.

Wynette just picked at her empty white plate.

Then a peeled shrimp landed on her plate.

She looked up-and Noah had another ready. “Why? Don’t you want some?”

For once, his voice carried a tiny bit of concern.

Lorelei laughed and put down her fork. “Wynette, Noah peels shrimp so well. You should try

some.

“Noah, you don’t have to peel for me. My plate is full. Make sure Wynette gets plenty too,” she said, showing off the huge plate of shrimp in front of her.

Noah chuckled. “You little seafood lover. Finish your shrimp first, then I’ll get you some crab

meat.”

He started working on the crab, separating the rich crab roe onto a separate’plate.
