He Loves Me Right, Finally
Chapter 106 I Don’t Care About Anything the Shepherds Own
Wynette’s kick instantly sent blood pouring from Payton’s nose.
She still tried to charge forward again, only to be held tightly in Adriel’s arms.
Even after hearing Payton wailing over the blood, Wynette didn’t think she’d done anything wrong.
The person she hit was a Shepherd.
She’d wanted to deal with that fake, pretentious woman for a long time already.
Looking at Payton’s crooked nose bridge, Wynette couldn’t hold back her laughter anymore, despite still being angry.
Letting Adriel hold her, she tilted her head up and said to him, “Look. Her implant shifted. Plastic surgery’s risky enough already, and you’ve got to be careful when getting into fights.”
Adriel followed her gaze and laughed too.
Hearing Wynette’s words, Payton frantically covered her nose. She’d only recently gotten the surgery done, and before it had even fully healed, Wynette’s kick had ruined it completely.
Payton glared hatefully at Wynette.
Eve crouched nervously beside Payton, checking her nose while crying out in distress.
Wynette patted the arm Adriel had wrapped around her waist. After he finally loosened his hold, she calmly straightened her clothes.
“Wynette, are you out of your mind? How dare you hit someone!” Eve raised her head and screamed furiously at Wynette.
Wynette only coldly shot back, “She was talking nonsense, so I hit her. What about it? If you weren’t so old that I’d worry you’d try to scam me if I touched you, I’d have ripped your mouth up too.”
Wynette hadn’t forgotten that Eve had also been standing there, slandering her moments ago.
Eve looked at the couple standing in front of her and sneered, “Did I say anything wrong? Are you seriously going to deny spending last night with Adriel? Do you dare swear there’s nothing going on between you two?
“You were sneaking around with Adriel behind Noah’s back too, you shameless tramp. So what are you acting innocent for? You keep saying my son cheated. Please. Like you’re any better.”
Without thinking about the consequences at all, she dragged Adriel into the insults too.
She looked like she was dying to brand them as a pair of shameless cheaters.
Adriel’s expression darkened as he stared at Eve coldly.
Just one glance was enough to terrify Eve. Her lips trembled in fear, and she didn’t dare keep cursing.
Wynette rolled her eyes at Eve. “Noah and I already broke up. I also have absolutely nothing to do with the Shepherds anymore. Who I date now is my business. You have no right to interfere.
“You’ve seriously got too much free time if you’re obsessing over me all day. Instead of acting like some nosy watchdog, maybe go home and educate your precious son and daughter properly before they embarrass the Shepherds even more.”
She laughed mockingly. “Though honestly, the Shepherds don’t really have much of a reputation left to ruin anyway.”
“What…” Eve was so furious that she couldn’t even speak properly.
Her face turned red as she sputtered uselessly without managing a single comeback.
Right in front of Eve, Wynette reached out and wrapped herself around Adriel’s arm, her eyes full of provocation. “Listen carefully. Even though I really got together with Adriel now, that happened after I broke up with Noah.
“Don’t project your own dirty mindset onto everyone else. When your family cheats, it’s acceptable, but when someone else moves on after a breakup, suddenly it’s a problem? Give me a break.”
Adriel lowered his gaze and looked at the woman beside him.
So Adriel is really courting Wynette?
How could Wynette possibly end up with an even better man after leaving Noah?
The second Eve and Payton heard about it, they immediately panicked and rushed over to cause trouble. Wynette sneered. “I never asked for the Shepherds‘ shares. Maybe figure out the facts before you come barking in my face like lunatics. Honestly, the Shepherds are really unbelievable. You start attacking random people before even understanding the situation.”
In Wynette’s eyes, aside from Adam, the rest of the Shepherds were basically no different from rabid dogs. At the slightest movement, and they’d immediately rush over and bark nonstop at her.
They were either brain–dead or completely stupid.
Payton’s face turned red. “You think you deserve the shares? Don’t think flattering my grandfather a few times means you can start reaching for things you don’t deserve. You’d better really mean it when you say you don’t want the shares. If it’s not yours, don’t even think about it.”
She genuinely couldn’t understand what kind of spell Wynette had cast on Adam to make the old man favor her so much.
Back then, he’d specifically declared that only if Noah married Wynette would he be allowed to inherit the Shepherds, and after the wedding, he’d planned to transfer 5% of his shares directly to Wynette.
In the beginning, the only reason Noah got together with Wynette was for the Shepherds‘ inheritance rights.
But after all this chaos, Adam had actually taken Noah’s shares away and added another 8% to compensate Wynette.
Of course, Eve and Payton couldn’t accept that.
They felt that the old man had to be out of his mind, always taking Wynette’s side when she was an outsider. It was infuriating.
Wynette honestly felt like there was something seriously wrong with Payton’s brain. She’d already explained herself so clearly, yet Payton was still barking nonsense in her face.
She clearly couldn’t understand plain English, yet she still insisted on showing up everywhere. Her sheer stupidity was driving Wynette up the wall.
“Relax. I don’t care about anything the Shepherds own,” Wynette said as she pulled her gaze away. “If you’re capable, go earn Mr. Adam’s favor yourselves instead of wasting your time here acting stupid.”
After saying that, Wynette called security over and ordered them to remove the two women. She also specifically instructed them never to allow anyone from the Shepherds inside again, except for Adam.
Watching Eve and Payton leave while still cursing loudly, Adriel still felt uneasy and personally accompanied Wynette upstairs.
