He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 109

After finishing up at the convention, Wynette checked the time and headed back with Shirley.

On the drive back, she took the initiative to message Adriel, telling him she'd already left the convention center.

The second the message was sent, Adriel immediately called her.

Wynette answered the phone.

Adriel's voice came through from the other end. "Why are you heading back so early?"

Wynette replied, "Thought I'd head back early and get ready. By the way, what do Mr. Lawrence and Ms. Tate usually like? Tonight's dinner is on me."

"At this point, do we really still need to keep your things and mine separate?" Adriel teased with a laugh.

Honestly, he had a point.

Wynette laughed too. "I guess we really don't need to draw the line that clearly."

Hearing her play along with his teasing instantly improved Adriel's mood.

He said to Wynette, "Alice likes reading psychology books. As for Jamie, as long as Alice is happy, he's happy."

Everyone in their circle knew Jamie completely revolved around Alice.

Wynette fell silent in thought after hearing that.

Adriel seemed to sense her nerves and continued gently, "You don't need to prepare anything special. Just think of it as keeping me company while meeting a few friends. Relax a little. Don't put so much pressure on yourself."

Even though he said that, Wynette still took tonight's meeting very seriously.

Adriel softly added, "You've got me there with you, so don't panic."

Those few simple words somehow eased the anxiety in Wynette's heart.

He didn't say much more after that, only gently telling her to close her eyes and get some rest on the ride back.

Even after hanging up the call, the smile on Wynette's lips never faded.

From the passenger seat, Shirley had noticed it the entire time. Wynette had been in an incredibly good mood from the moment she answered Adriel's call. The smile on her face was practically glowing brighter than the sun.

Maybe even Wynette herself hadn't realized it yet, but every time she answered Adriel's calls lately, she unconsciously smiled.

That relationship definitely didn't look simple anymore.

Of course, Shirley only dared to secretly ship Wynette and Adriel in her own head for now.

Shirley looked away, secretly grinning to herself like someone completely obsessed with their favorite ship.

Completely unaware that her assistant had already become obsessed with shipping her and Adriel together, Wynette leaned back in her seat after hanging up and closed her eyes to rest.

She and Shirley headed straight to Rainmist House.

Wynette had intentionally arrived early, but the moment she and Shirley got out of the car, they spotted Adriel standing outside with Blaze.

"How are you here this early too?" Wynette looked at Adriel in surprise.

Adriel answered honestly, "I happened to finish work, and once you said you were on your way back, I came over to wait."

Standing beside Adriel, Blaze smiled and greeted her. "Ms. Jewell."

Shirley immediately chimed in, "Mr. Gallagher."

After speaking, the two of them glanced at each other simultaneously. That ridiculous unspoken chemistry caught them both off guard.

Adriel brought Wynette into the private room.

As the assistant, Blaze very tactfully found an excuse to pull Shirley away, leaving the space to Adriel and Wynette.

Remembering what the convention organizer had said earlier, Wynette took the initiative to speak first. "The organizers said you contacted them ahead of time. Thank you."

She knew they'd only been so cooperative because of Adriel.

Wynette genuinely felt grateful toward him.

After hearing her words, Adriel casually replied, "It was just a small favor. No problem."

He's not talking about the Moonveil Auction, is he?
