The group arrived at Lux Club.
Sitting in the familiar private room, Wynette couldn't help thinking back to the night Joanne had ordered gigolos there.
Her expression instantly turned a little awkward.
At first, Alice sat beside Jamie.
But not long after, she got up and walked over to Wynette.
She had no interest in sitting around with two men drinking.
Wynette was lowering her head, texting Shirley.
Things at the Shepherds were already a complete mess.
Eve was under investigation, scandals involving Payton were exploding everywhere, and the Shepherd Group's stock had already taken a hit because of it all.
Justin and Noah were currently busy cleaning up the disaster.
But even with all that chaos, Justin still somehow had time to cause trouble for Wynette.
Watching the Shepherds scramble around immediately improved Wynette's mood.
The moment Alice sat down, she noticed the change in her expression. "You seem pretty happy."
Wynette smiled faintly. "Not bad."
She looked at Alice and said, "You shouldn't drink alcohol. I'll have someone bring you some juice instead."
Seeing the wine in Alice's hand, Wynette thought about her heart condition and wanted her to stick to juice instead.
Alice casually took a small sip. "It's fine. As long as I don't drink too much."
Hearing that, Wynette couldn't really insist further.
She could tell Alice wasn't in a very good mood.
It made her think about how attentively Jamie had taken care of Alice the entire way here.
No matter how she looked at it, it didn't seem like he had any feelings for Alice.
Alice looked at Wynette's conflicted expression and softly said, "Sometimes what you see isn't necessarily real. A man who doesn't love you can still act like he's deeply in love. It's just acting anyway. He loses nothing from it."
Wynette felt there was absolutely nothing wrong with that statement.
Noah was the same way.
Wynette nodded in agreement. "You're right."
Alice laughed lightly. "Did what I said make you think about your trash ex again? I've heard a little about your situation. Men like that aren't worth hanging onto. Cutting your losses early is the smart move. You deserve someone better."
She thought Wynette was still heartbroken over her relationship with Noah and was trying to comfort her.
But at that moment, Wynette was actually thinking about whether Lorelei would disappoint her or not.
"Hey." Alice tugged on Wynette's sleeve and looked toward Adriel. "Tell me honestly. What do you think of him?"
Following Alice's gaze, Wynette looked at Adriel's profile and unconsciously recalled everything related to him.
Adriel was a pretty good person.
Even though she didn't understand why Alice was suddenly asking this, Wynette still answered honestly, "He's great."
Hearing that, the smile on Alice's face deepened. "Have you never thought about seeing where things could go with Adriel? Think about it. You dump a scumbag like Noah, then end up with a man a hundred times better than him. If Noah found out, he'd probably die of anger."
That comment completely caught Wynette off guard.
Why does it sound like Alice is trying to set me up with Adriel?
Why is everyone suddenly so invested in pairing her with him?
Wynette laughed awkwardly. "That's not necessary. I'm not going to start a relationship just to make Noah mad. Even though my last relationship failed, I still believe in love."
