Chapter 24 Do Whatever She Says
The conference room had already turned into complete chaos.

The moment Wynette pushed the door open, she saw Lorelei standing there with an arrogant, self-important look.
Jasmine spotted Wynette right away and walked toward her. “Wynette.”
At Jasmine’s call, the arguments in the room immediately stopped.
The employees who had just been arguing with Lorelei until their faces were flushed quickly gathered behind Wynette. their expressions full of defiance.
The situation naturally split into two sides.
Wynette’s side had the numbers.
On the other side. Lorelei stood alone across from her.
No matter how anyone looked at it. Lorelei appeared to be the one at a disadvantage.
When Lorelei saw Wynette. her eyes twitched slightly.
Her reaction clearly showed that Wynette’s appearance was not welcome.
She simply watched Wynette in silence.
Wynette gave everyone a reassuring look before asking. ‘I heard you’re unhappy with parts of the game’s storyline and want to make changes.
Her tone left no room for doubt.
Lorelei nodded. “Yes. Noah said that if I have ideas. I can modify the game anytime. I think there are problems with those details, so I suggested some revisions. There’s nothing wrong with that, right?’
Right in front of Wynette. Lorelei openly invoked Noah’s name.
She lifted her eyebrows slightly, and the way she looked at Wynette carried obvious smugness.
Lorelei did it deliberately, intentionally using Noah to provoke Wynette.
“Noah said that? Wynette showed no reaction to Lorelei’s words.
Instead, she curved her lips in a faint, amused smile. “How much do you actually know about this game? You’ve been here for less than three hours, yet you’re already proposing revision plans. Don’t you think that’s a little ridiculous?”

“Ms. Barlow, putting aside that your professional background has nothing to do with this field, if it weren’t for Noah, an outsider like you would never have been allowed onto this team.”
The game was everyone’s hard work. Wynette did not want to see it ruined. Otherwise, she would not have tolerated Noah using this project as a way to constantly irritate her.
She had always known Lorelei would not behave quietly, but she had not expected this foolish woman to be so impatient.
Even if Lorelei wanted to show off her status in front of her, she should not have chosen such a stupid way to do it.
Of course Lorelei understood what Wynette meant.
Wynette had practically said outright that someone half-qualified like her had no right to interfere with the team’s work.
Her blunt words felt like an invisible slap across Lorelei’s face.
Her face turned pale as she stared at the woman in front of her in disbelief.
“Wynette, even if I don’t understand anything, don’t forget that Noah is the investor of this game. Whatever he asks you to do, you have to do it.” Lorelei snapped angrily.
Since Wynette had dragged the conflict out into the open today, Lorelei refused to lose face.
She was determined to regain her dignity, and Wynette had to follow her instructions.
After hearing Lorelei’s brazen words, Wynette calmly sat down in front of her.
Right in front of Lorelei, she took out her phone and dialed Noah’s number.
Unlike before, when the call never went through, the man answered instantly this time.
“Wynette…”
Before Noah could continue, Wynette’s voice turned cold. “Noah, Lorelei says you’re the investor, and whatever she wants, I have to follow.”
As she spoke, she watched Lorelei’s expression shift slightly and let out a small, mocking laugh. “So is that what you mean too? Using your position as the investor to let someone who knows nothing about games interfere with my work?”
“Then I’d like to ask Mr. Shepherd this. Do Lorelei’s words fully represent your position? Do I have to cooperate with her completely?”
Wynette placed the decision directly in Noah’s hands.
At that moment, she wanted to see his true attitude.

She wanted to know whether he was worth all the patience and restraint she had shown for the sake of this game.
Lorelei glared viciously at Wynette. She had never expected that Wynette would repeat every word she had said directly to Noah.
In truth, Lorelei did not have complete confidence that Noah would stand on her side without hesitation.
In front of Noah, she had always maintained the image of an obedient, gentle, and considerate
woman.
Using Noah’s authority to say such things was out of character for her.
Now she started to worry. What if Noah forms a bad impression of me because of this?
It was all because of that bitch, Wynette! She always acted out of turn!
Lorelei had been certain Wynette cared deeply about this game. Combined with what Wynette had said in the group chat earlier, it was obvious she had concerns.
Earlier that morning, Wynette had even stepped forward to smooth things over. That alone proved that for the sake of the game, she would choose to endure and compromise.
On the other end of the phone, Noah remained silent.
Wynette could hear his faint breathing.
She did not rush him. She simply waited quietly.
After a long while, Noah’s voice finally came through the phone. “I’m coming over now.”
Wynette immediately hung up.
Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at Lorelei, then withdrew her gaze and sat upright, waiting.
The drive from Shepherd Group to the studio usually took more than 40 minutes, but Noah arrived in less than 20 minutes.
When Wynette saw his hurried figure appear, she only lifted her eyebrows slightly and looked at him with faint amusement.
From the moment Noah stepped into the conference room, the scene he saw was Wynette standing with a group of people while Lorelei sat alone across from them.
No matter how it looked, Lorelei appeared isolated and completely outnumbered.

Her slightly red eyes and the helpless look she gave Noah made her seem extremely wronged.
Unfortunately, Noah had always been most vulnerable to Lorelei’s fragile act.
He quickly walked over to Lorelei and shielded her behind him, saying softly, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
His voice was so gentle that it was almost overflowing with tenderness.
Wynette watched the two of them standing there like a perfectly devoted couple, and a faintly mocking smile curved at the corner of her lips.
Although they put on scenes like this in front of her every time and she had long grown used to it, she still found it deeply ironic.
As if sensing Wynette’s gaze, Noah looked at her and frowned. “What’s going on?”
The moment he finished speaking, Noah felt Lorelei’s hand tighten slightly around his, as if she were nervous.
Wynette nodded toward Lorelei. “Mr. Shepherd should ask the person beside you.”
It was obvious she had no intention of repeating Lorelei’s foolish behavior.
When Noah heard her answer, a hint of displeasure appeared in his eyes.
He turned to Lorelei. “Lorelei, you tell me.”
Under Noah’s gentle gaze, Lorelei explained what had happened.
She spoke cleverly, glossing over her own role. When she talked about the others, her eyes quickly turned red, and her voice became choked as she admitted fault.
She even quietly exaggerated Wynette’s remark that she had only entered the studio through Noah’s connections and had no right to interfere with the work.
As Lorelei continued speaking, Noah’s eyes slowly filled with stormy anger.
As he looked at Wynette, his gaze gradually turned cold.
