Wynette bowed to everyone and apologized. “I’m really sorry. I know this game carries too much of everyone’s hard work. Backing out at a moment like this means I’ve let all of you down.”

The team had still been a little stunned, but the moment they saw her bow, they rushed to stop her. “Wynette, what are you doing?”

“Exactly. Everyone knows you’re the one who put the most effort into this.”

“You must be hurting even more than we are. We understand…”

“Right. We’ve all seen how much this game means to you. If things hadn’t gone too far, there’s no way you would give it up.”

“If releasing the game means you have to keep swallowing your pride and lowering yourself like this, then forget it.”

“Yeah. No matter what happens, we’ll always support you. Some people mistake junk for treasure, but that doesn’t mean we’re blind.”

What they were saying might as well have been pointing straight at Noah and calling him blind.

Noah’s expression had already been ugly, but after hearing everyone’s comments, it turned even darker.

Hearing their support, a warm feeling passed through Wynette’s heart.

Everyone here had poured just as much effort into this game as she had, and they had all been waiting for the day it finally launched.

Stopping the project now meant all that effort would amount to nothing.

It was impossible for Wynette not to feel the pain of that.

But she refused to keep giving in to Noah.

Since she had made her decision, she had no intention of going back on it.

She looked at everyone with gratitude in her eyes because of their understanding and support.

After a moment, Wynette looked away and stood firm. “Noah, if you want to pull your investment, go ahead. I’m giving up on this game completely.”

He could do whatever he wanted.

Noah had to admit that before this, he really had used the game to pressure Wynette. He knew better than anyone how important this project was to her.

Yet now Wynette was saying again and again, right in front of him and everyone else, that she was giving it up.

When he met her calm gaze, he could see the determination in her eyes.

After spending so long with her, Noah understood that this time she was serious. She was not throwing a tantrum.

Realizing that he might actually be losing control over her, Noah started to panic. “Wynette, do you even hear yourself?”

She cared about this game more than anything, yet now she was ready to abandon it, and she was doing it in the middle of falling out with him.

In Noah’s mind, that made no sense.

At the very least, Wynette should not be treating him this way.

Noah still refused to believe she would really walk away from the project.

Compared to Noah’s denial, Wynette felt very little.

If anything, she found it slightly amusing.

A faint smile appeared on her lips. “I know exactly what I’m doing. Mr. Shepherd, on the other hand, doesn’t seem very aware of how he’s behaving right now.”

Wynette said it as a reminder. The way Noah was acting now was nothing like the man he used to be.

Her words seemed to snap him out of it.

Yes. What exactly was he refusing to believe?

Ever since he noticed the change in Wynette, Noah had refused to accept that she had truly become different.

Deep down, he had still been holding onto hope.

He thought Wynette was simply jealous and acting out to get his attention.

But now Noah finally had to toss that old picture of her…

Whether he liked it or not, Wynette was no longer the woman he used to know.

She no longer clung to him stubbornly, and even the way she treated him had grown distant.

For the first time, Noah felt a real sense of crisis.

It suddenly felt like Wynette was slipping out of his control.

She noticed the change in his emotions, but now she did not care at all.

“Noah, I don’t want this game anymore,” Wynette said firmly.

The certainty in her voice made Noah feel even more unsettled.

He looked at her and opened his mouth, about to say something.

But Lorelei spoke up first, cutting him off.

Still looking pitiful, she said softly, “Wynette, why are you acting out like this just to pick a fight with Noah?

“You just said the game is the result of everyone’s hard work. If you decide not to release it just like that, that’s selfish.”

As if remembering something, Lorelei added, “Besides, Noah invested a lot of money into this project. If you say you’re giving up now, what about all that funding?”

The moment Lorelei finished speaking, the rest of the studio glared at her.

They had already made their position clear. As people who had worked alongside Wynette all this time, they supported and understood her decision.

Who did this woman think she was?

Did she really think a few words from her could pressure Wynette into backing down?

Several people let out sarcastic laughs. “Selfish? That’s rich coming from someone like you.”

“Exactly. Some people really just have no self-awareness!”

“If certain shameless people hadn’t forced their way in and started acting like experts about things they don’t understand, we wouldn’t even be in this situation.”

“We know perfectly well what’s right and wrong. A few manipulative words won’t change that. We support Wynette, no matter what.”

“That’s right. Whatever decision Wynette makes, I’m with her. I stand with Wynette.”

Listening to the voices around her, Lorelei’s face turned pale, then flushed again.

She had meant to stir up dissatisfaction toward Wynette.
