Chapter 42 A Clean Break
Joanne looked at Wynette and could tell right away she had no idea what was going on.
Knowing Wynette, there was no way she would have let the company get this messy.
Joanne said. “If you want to fully cut ties, you’re going to need a lot of money. You should be ready for that.”
She had already run the numbers.
It was a huge amount.
Now it all came down to what Wynette was willing to do.
Wynette asked. “How much?”
“Close to 200 million dollars,” Joanne answered honestly.
Some projects were still ongoing. If they pulled out now, the penalties alone would cost a lot.
Wynette stayed calm and she spoke steadily. “What if we ignore the project? What if I only want that one percent share in Jewell Group?”
Even though Jewell Group wasn’t as strong as before, there was no way she would let the Shepherds stay involved after finding out they had been playing games behind her back.
She had to cut things cleanly–fast and hard. Even if it meant taking a big loss.
What the Shepherds did crossed the line; she didn’t care about playing nice.
Honestly, she found it funny.
Over the past few years, every time she argued with Noah, Kaylee would tell her to give in because his family supported them.
Back then, her mother had pressured her, and she had no choice but to compromise.
Now she found out the Shepherds had been making plenty of profit the whole time. All those compromises? They felt like a joke.
Joanne did a quick calculation and said, “Even if the company is struggling, the brand still has value. At least a 100 million.”
And that was assuming the Shepherds didn’t try to raise the price.
But knowing how they operated, Joanne didn’t expect them to play nice. They would definitely push for

“What about the projects?” Joanne asked.
Wynette looked at her and said, “Let them go. If the Shepherds are the ones benefiting, they can have all of

She knew exactly how those people thought.
They only cared about profit.
Because of this, when she was dating Noah, she rarely went back with him to meet his family.
Joanne had been worried, but after hearing that, she nodded.
Finished
“That makes sense. We’ll keep the losses minimal. When you meet them to negotiate, take me with you.
She didn’t trust the Shepherds at all.
At the very least, her being a Gallagher might make them think twice.
Wynette understood and smiled. “Okay. I’ll let you know.”
At this point, there was no guarantee the Shepherds would even be willing to talk nicely.
She might really need Joanne there.
Joanne lowered her head and went through the files. “Let me study more. I’ll put together a plan for you.” Watching her becoming a little more busy, Wynette stood up slowly. “Alright. I’ll make you coffee.”
“Love you,” Joanne said, making a heart with her hands.
Even though Wynette didn’t live there often, a cleaner came every other day, so the place stayed spotless. By the time she came back with the coffee, Joanne was walking around, filming the house with her phone. The moment Wynette stepped out, the camera turned toward her.
“Wynette, say hi!” Joanne waved.
Wynette just smiled at the camera and lifted her coffee cup, signaling Joanne to come drink it.
Joanne stopped recording and ran over.
Sitting down beside her, Wynette asked, “What are you filming?”
