He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 46

Chapter 46 Blocked and Done

After signing the contract, Marcus stood up and got ready to leave.

Joanne smiled at him. “You’re already here. Stay and have a meal with us.”

She didn’t really like rich guys like Marcus, but business was business. She gave it some thoughts and kept things polite.

Marcus tugged at his tie and smiled. “It would be my honor to dine with you both, but I have a cocktail party to attend. I’m running late.

“I’m sorry. This meal is on me. Let’s call it a celebration of our partnership. Please enjoy,” he said, looking at them with apology.

Since he put it that way, Wynette didn’t try to stop him.

After Marcus left the room, she picked up her phone and opened up Adriel’s profile.

If it weren’t for him, the deal with Marcus wouldn’t have gone this smoothly.

At the end of the day, she owed him a thank–you.

She hesitated for a moment, then sent him a message.

Beside her, Joanne was also on her phone, sending Adriel a flood of messages.

When she saw the eye–roll meme he sent back, Joanne pouted. “So boring.”

She put her phone down and turned to Wynette. Seeing her serious expression, she asked softly, “What’s wrong? Why do you look so serious?”

Wynette looked away. “It’s nothing.”

Joanne didn’t think much of it.

“After we eat, let’s go shopping,” she said. “I just scored one of Adriel’s cards. I’m going to treat myself today. And you too, my dear best friend.”

She pulled out a bank card, smiling like she had just won the lottery.

Wynette couldn’t help but laugh at how money–minded Joanne looked.

Honestly, with Joanne’s background, she had plenty of money. But she had always loved saving and getting a good deal. Even a few cents could make her happy for a long time.

So after scoring Adriel’s bank card, she was probably over the moon.

Wynette took out her phone and transferred some money to her.

When the notification went off, Joanne picked up her phone and glanced at it. “Why did you send me money?”

She immediately rejected it and shot Wynette a playful glare.

There was no way she was taking that money.

Wynette sighed helplessly, “You don’t want the commission from this deal?”

“No.” Joanne looked at her seriously. “Don’t argue with me. If you really want to thank me, just buy me coffee.”

Because of her job, Joanne drank several cups of black coffee every day.

She was addicted. If she didn’t get her coffee at the usual time, she felt off all over.

Wynette had told her before to cut back. It would be bad for her health in the long run.

So hearing her ask for coffee again, Wynette felt helpless.

Under Joanne’s pleading look, she finally gave in. “Fine. Let’s eat. I’ll treat you coffee when we go shopping.”

“That’s my best friend! You’re the best. Love you, love you!” Joanne held Wynette’s face and gave her a big kiss.

The two of them laughed and kept chatting as they ate.

During that time, Wynette’s phone kept ringing. She rejected every call.

There was only one person who would keep calling like that–Noah.

She had thought about blocking him again, like before.

But she had already blocked several of his numbers. If he really wanted to reach her, blocking more wouldn’t help.

All her apps were tied to this number, and changing it would be a hassle. Otherwise, she might have done it already.

“Noah?” Joanne held her iced Americano and rolled her eyes so hard it was almost dramatic.

From Wynette’s annoyed face, it wasn’t hard to guess who was calling.

Wynette just shrugged, looking helpless.

Chapter 46 1

A man setting up his girlfriend and his side piece in the same neighborhood? And he still thought Wynette was easy to fool. Unbelievable.

Chapter 46 2

A mocking smile curved on her lips. Oh, wow. He finally noticed. I had sold that condo for a while now.

If Noah had gone there even once, he would have known the place had a new owner.

But he only found out today. That showed he hadn’t been home for a long time.

He was probably staying with Lorelei.
