Chapter 52 Don’t Test Me Again
Lorelei was still crying and wailing that she wanted to die.
Noah held her in his arms, gently patting her back, trying to calm her down.
Neither of them noticed Wynette walking toward them.
Finished
Maybe Noah did see her, but he didn’t care. Right now, all his attention was set on comforting Lorelei.
Wynette stopped right in front of them. She looked at Lorelei’s dramatic performance, her smile growing colder.
Then, all of a sudden, Noah felt a strong pull on his shoulder.
Before he could react, he was yanked away from Lorelei,
Wynette grabbed him and shoved him aside like he was nothing.
Lorelei froze. She even forgot to cry.
She looked up, eyes full of tears, staring at Wynette in shock.
For some reason, just being looked at like that made her uneasy.
A voice in her head told her to run.
And she almost did.
The moment she turned, Wynette reached out and grabbed her hair.
“Arghhh!”
A sharp pain shot through Lorelei’s scalp as she was dragged forward.
She stumbled right in front of Wynette, panic written all over her face as she met those cold eyes.
Wynette tightened her grip and sneered. “I’ve put up with you long enough. I didn’t bother with you before, and you really thought you were clever? You think I wouldn’t touch you?
“You keep stirring trouble and blaming me. Who do you think you are, coming in front of me again and again, acting all innocent?”
With every word, her grip got tighter.
It hurt so much that Lorelei felt like her scalp might tear off.
Tears streamed down her face for real.
She flailed her arms, trying to grab Wynette. “You crazy bitch! Let go of me!”
She was furious. She honestly wanted to jump up and bite her.

finished
Just as her hand was about to hit Wynette’s face, Noah finally snapped out of it.
He rushed forward to pull Wynette away.
But Joanne stepped in front of him, blocking his path.
The others finally reacted too and rushed forward to stop Wynette.
Too late. Wynette had foreseen this. She pulled Lorelei backward by her hair.
Lorelei stumbled and lost her balance. She fell hard to the floor, completely helpless as she was dragged along.
It was a miserable sight.
Wynette threw her to the side, then raised her hand–Smack! Smack! Smack!
She slapped Lorelei across the face again and again.
Lorelei, caught off guard, was stunned. She forgot to fight back. That only gave Wynette time to hit her a few more times.
Out of the corner of her eye, Wynette saw the others rushing toward her. Only then did she stop. She yanked Lorelei up by the hair, forced her to stand, then shoved her straight toward the crowd.
Everyone instinctively stepped aside.
Lorelei fell to the floor again, crying out in pain.
When Joanne heard this, she glanced over while still struggling with Noah.
If she weren’t busy holding this jerk back, she would’ve clapped for Wynette.
Of course, Joanne didn’t hold back either.
While pushing Noah, she dug her nails into him, scratching and clawing at his neck and face, leaving streaks of blood.
Noah couldn’t fight back.
It almost made Joanne laugh out loud.
After dealing with Lorelei, Wynette walked toward Noah.
As she passed Lorelei, she stepped hard on the back of her hand.
Lorelei had been trying to push herself up; the sudden pain made her fall back onto the floor. She screamed in agony, loud and sharp, filling the space.
