He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 87

Chapter 87 Looking for Partners

Adriel bent down a little so he was eye level with Wynette.

He blinked and looked straight at her.

If Wynette had paid attention, she would’ve seen a look so tender it was almost overwhelming.

Unfortunately, Wynette was so focused on wiping his face that she missed the look in Adriel’s eyes—a gaze more devoted than a loyal pup’s.

That gave Adriel the chance to stare at her as much as he wanted.

“Done!” Wynette tossed the dirty wet wipe.

As soon as she spoke, Adriel quickly hid the emotion in his eyes.

He went back to his usual calm demeanor and said softly, “Thanks.”

Wynette chuckled. “How did you get it all over your face like that? Someone might think you stuck your head straight into the batter.”

Thinking back to how he looked just a moment ago, she burst out laughing.

She couldn’t help it–he’d looked unexpectedly cute.

Hearing her laugh, Adriel reached out and tapped her nose. “Stop laughing. Keep it up, and I’ll turn you into a mess too.”

As soon as he said that, a few streaks of flour showed up on her face.

Wynette raised her hands to block him. “Adriel, that’s too much!”

Her eyes flicked as she got an idea, then she grabbed a handful of flour. She seized the chance and cupped his face, rubbing it on his cheeks.

In no time, his face was covered in flour again.

Adriel didn’t hold back either and reached for her face.

The two of them went back and forth in the kitchen, patting and tossing flour at each other.

Before long, the kitchen was filled with their laughter.

By the time they finally sat down to eat, an hour and a half had passed.

Their faces were clean again, but their clothes were still dusted with white flour.

Wynette’s cheeks were still slightly flushed.

Just thinking about how childish they’d been in the kitchen a moment ago made Wynette blush hard.

Adriel set a bowl of soup in front of her. “Try it.”

As he spoke, he placed a pan–seared ravioli onto another plate.

He’d made the ravioli himself–from scratch, even rolling out the dough.

Wynette honestly hadn’t expected that Adriel could cook, let alone be this good.

You could tell just by how nicely the ravioli were plated.

Under his expectant gaze, Wynette took a bite. Her eyes immediately softened, and she didn’t hold back her praise. “Wow, this is really good.”

She popped it into her mouth in one bite.

Then Wynette took a sip of the soup. It instantly hit the spot.

She looked at Adriel in surprise. “I didn’t expect this. I didn’t know you were such an amazing cook. It’s so good.”

As she spoke, Wynette took another sip of the soup.

Her praise clearly pleased Adriel.

He smiled. “Slow down. There’s plenty. It’s all yours. No one’s going to take it from you.”

Noticing a bit of ravioli filling at the corner of her lips, Adriel reached out and gently wiped it away.

The sudden closeness made Wynette stiffen for a moment.

But Adriel acted as if it were the most natural thing in the world, calmly telling her to eat more.

At first, Wynette felt like that small gesture had been a little too intimate.

But seeing his blank expression, she lowered her gaze, thinking maybe she was overthinking it.

With that in mind, she lowered her head and quietly focused on eating.

Adriel watched her out of the corner of his eye, a faint smile playing on his lips.

She had already noticed something off about the company. When she tried to investigate, she kept getting blocked.

A few times, she even ran into accidents during her investigation.

That’s when she started being more cautious.

On the surface, she played the part of the girl hopelessly obsessed with Noah. But behind the scenes. where no one could see, she quietly pulled the rug out from under them, setting up a company under a

friend’s name.

It was basically a copy of Jewell Group, with similar business operations.

The scale wasn’t as big, but in just three years, it had built a name for itself.

Now it was considered a niche brand. Compared to Jewell Group, it wasn’t top–tier, but definitely above

average.

Fraighed

That’s also why Wynette had the confidence to make major changes after taking over Jewell Group.

Merging her own company into Jewell Group would be more than enough.

After listening to Shirley, Wynette thought for a moment and said, “…What about outsourcing?”

If her internal team was shorthanded, there were plenty of independent design studios out there. They just needed to find the right ones to work with.

Shirley had already thought of that.

She had screened options right away and reached out, but as soon as those studios heard it was Jewell Group, they refused.

Wynette caught on instantly. Shepherd Group was definitely pulling strings behind the scenes.

“What’s Payton been up to lately?” Wynette asked.

“I’ll look into it right now,” Shirley replied.

Wynette spoke calmly, “Keep looking for partners. If they don’t want to work with us, that’s fine. Post widely–websites, forums, everywhere.

“As long as they can design what we need, even freelance artists are fine. As long as it’s not against the rules, we’ll take them.”
